Oasis and Coldplay to battle it out at Q Awards
Oasis have topped the nominations for this year's Q Awards, with Best Act in the World Today, Best Single and Best Live Act.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Vines, Coldplay and The Hives all have two nominations each.
Joining Oasis in the running for the acclaimed Best Act In The World Today is Coldplay, U2, Radiohead, Stereophonics and U2.
Oasis and U2 have both won the award four times previously.
Coldplay's A Rush Of Blood To The Head, The Vines' Highly Evolved and the Chili Peppers' By The Way are up against Beth Orton's Daybreaker and Doves' The Last Broadcast for Best Album.
The Hives are also double nominees up for Best Single and Video for Hate To Say I Told You So.
Nominations for the new Q Unwanted award - for the celebrity fans would least like to see at the ceremony - include Geri Halliwell, Simon Cowell and Pete Waterman.
The awards will be handed out at a ceremony, hosted by TV presenters Adam and Joe, in north London next Monday.
Nominations were drawn up from the most popular acts after eight weeks of voting by Q readers.
