Diary: Bono & Chris Tucker: Aiding Africa
10 pm/ET, MTV

This moving installment follows an unlikely trio of prominent men to Africa, where they witness the impact of poverty and AIDS.

U2's Bono, U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill and actor Chris Tucker join two college students on a fact-finding tour of Uganda and Ethiopia, where they get stark lessons about the dire lives of many Africans.

They see the changes a well has brought to a Ugandan village, learn about efforts to fight AIDS through education, and meet AIDS victims who can't afford drugs to extend their lives. Bono, who has lobbied O'Neill for U.S. funding to change the conditions, calls him a "compassionate conservative," adding, "I'm trying to turn his compassion into cash." ? Jeff Gemmill
