U2 Remix ?Pop? And Plan New Single
Irish super group U2 are planning on following their imminent second 'Greatest Hits' album with a new single and a total remix their 1997 ?Pop? album.
At present U2 are currently working in their Dublin studios, finishing off new material for inclusion on their the 17-track ?Best Of 1990-2002? album which is due for release on November 18th.
Reports indicate that the album will include two new songs, and the first of which ?Electric Storm? may well be released as a stand alone single on October 21st.
In addition, U2 guitarist, The Edge, has stated that the band are also reworking and remixing ?Pop?. In the past the band have expressed their dissatisfaction with some songs on the album, and are now working on new versions and mixes for future release.
If that isn't enough U2 for you, there's also two DVD's planned for early December. One will accompany the ?Best Of? album, and another will be a live recording of last year?s Slane Castle gig.
There are also rumours that Irish novelist Roddy Doyle is writing a stage musical based around the groups songs in an Abba ?Mama Mia? or Queen ?We Will Rock You? style. Oh joy.
