Bands Plays "Pride" and "One"

On June 21st, U2 performed at the Opening Ceremonies of the 11th Special Olympics World Summer Games held at Dublin's Croke Park. The band played "Pride" and "One." Below, you will find MP3s of the performances courtesy of Interference's Mr_Lemon, and photos from various news outlets that we were able to find.

LOL, I think it's funny how they called them a Supergroup!

I really hope someone videotapes it and posts it up, cause I won't get to see it otherwise. :(

I posted this in EYKIW, but U2log reported that U2 did their soundcheck and played "Pride" and "One" (without Bono).

I hope there will be plenty of pictures up soon. I'm dying to see them. :hyper:

I'm sure by tomorrow we'll have MP3's and video clips to watch/listen to.

I'm waiting for imagenes and videos! :hyper:

according to a rumour, they could play "One" or "Pride"

Hi from Cork,Ireland.they just played one and pride.Bono changed the words to "late evening june 21 croke park on the longest day.nelson mandela came to talk listen to what he was to say"and then ran off the stage to get Nelson.

Hey follower, thanks for the link! Found the radio broadcast *just* (like to the second) in time to hear U2 perform One and Pride. They sounded great!

WoW!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a performance! :combust:

I Just  that performance of ONE...fully orchestrated!

And then during Pride, bringing Nelson up there! DOUBLE WOW!:faint:

They just are amazing..now I wish I could fast forward to 2004 and be at one of many concerts that I plan on attending! Can't wait!
C'mon guys hurry up and finish that album!:sexywink:

Great performance by U2! We?ve seen an orchestra version of One with Bono / The Edge / Brian Eno (War Child Bosnia) ? with Bono / Zucchero (Net Aid) ? with Bono / Daniel Lanois (Millennium New Year?s Eve) ? with Bono / Zucchero? / female backing singers (War Child Iraq) ? and now with all of U2 (Special Olympics Dublin). What is everybody?s favourite?

Pride performed live usually features a snippet of MLK?s ?I Have Been To The Mountain Top? speech. So to have Bono bring out Nelson Mandela was quite special. And with the Mandela SOS Concert for the AIDS Emergency in Africa rescheduled the day before for November 30th we have another powerful moment to look forward to

Interesting version of Pride (re Mandela lyrics.)

whatever, that song always gives me the chills...

I love how raw it is, just edge scratching those strings...

This version actually reminds me of the Live Aid version if you can believe it...

What a great cause...
