I can't complain about two U2 songs in the Top 25, and I think One and WOWY are excellent choices. But it's kind of hard to get excited about a list that also includes songs by The Backstreet Boys and Bon Jovi. :eyebrow: Oh, well, that's VH1 for you. I guess I should be grateful they didn't include The Macarena.

They didn't include Macarena!?!...

I hope the VH1 mailbox has flood control.

Great to see THE POLICE made it with both "Every Breath You Take" and "Roxanne" !

Awesome!

I just saw a commercial for that countdown this morning, and I was like, "Oh, U2 has to be in there somewhere".

And they are.

Cool. :).

As for the list...overall a lot of good songs in there, I'm just surprised at the ranking some of them get (like "Lose Yourself" at number four, over "One"? I like "Lose Yourself", but I don't think that song has nearly as much importance right now as "One" has had ever since it came out, personally).

That's the thing that I keep saying about a lot of these lists VH1 does. I agree with a lot of what is put in there, I'd just rank a lot of the stuff differently-there's songs or artists or albums I felt should be higher than they were, or vice versa.

Tom Petty's in there, too, which is neat (seriously, though, that's, like, the only song people recognize him for-I love that song, but there's many other songs he's done that are just as good. Meh. Oh, well).

Anywho, yay for U2.

Lose Yourself being ranked the #4 song of the past 25 years is a joke. I personally like the song, but come on now. One would think you'd need a little staying power to be considered one of the top 10 songs of all time. Lose Yourself's been out for like a year.

As much as I dislike Bon Jovi, Livin' On A Prayer HAS to be on that list... so I won't complain about that one. EEEEEVERYone at least knows the chorus to that one... and unfortunatly you can say the same about Hit Me One More Time and I Want It That Way... :barf:

and forget about the Macarena... where in the bluest of blue hells is Whoomp, There it is?!?!?!?!?!

and if you wanna get technical here... Bono actually makes the list 3 times... They got a little BandAid action in there. And on the charity single topic... WHERE THE HELL IS WE ARE THE WORLD?!?!?!

balls i say... balls...

It's hard to be pleased about a list made by anyone but yourself, with that in mind I don't have a problem with 95% of what's here.

But I think 20 years from now Haven't Found will stand up better than With or Without You. I really wish U2 would remove WOWY from their live set list. Without the "shine like stars" addendum it can really drag live.

And where's Pride?

I also agree with you. Out of all of the songs in the past 25 years, I don't think it deserved such a high ranking, being so new. I do like it all right though.

wow

I'm really glad U2 got in the top 25. I love them to death I think it's really great. However; Eminem and Michael got above them!? U2 is the best come on! *sigh* Oh well what can one do? Go U2 you guys rock!
