U2 can enter pitpass' latest caption competition
As reported elsewhere, rock singer Bono was Eddie Jordan's star guest over the GP weekend. By now we're used to the seemingly endless parade of 'celebrities' that turn up at F1 races, particularly the more glamorous events such as Monaco, announce that they adore the sport but that this is their first race.
Naturally interviewers such as Martin Brundle are too polite to ask the most obvious question, namely: "If you're such a fan and placed 154th in the Sunday Times 'Rich List' why have you never visited a race before, indeed why do you wait until you get a freebie?" Martin wouldn't ask such a question but rest assured pitpass would.
Anyway, Bono, clearly having the time of his life, and seen here accompanied by a character not unlike Harry Enfield's creation 'Kevin the teenager' admitted that up until now he'd had no interest in F1 but had come along for the sake of his kids and to support the Jordan team. Thankfully he did not embarrass himself in the same fashion as Liz Hurley who a few years back revealed - on the grid at Monaco, where else? - that yes she was mad about F1 and that yes this was her first race and that following the grid walkabout: "We're going up to the first corner for the take-off, or whatever they call it here." (sic).
Anyway here's Bono doing his best to stifle his indifference.. now write the caption
