Slow Dancing, New Version

A new version of U2's Slow Dancing features on a forthcoming Willie Nelson retrospective.

U2 originally wrote the song with Willie in mind in the early 1990's. It was released as the b-side to 1993's Stay single. Later still another version was released on the b-side of the 1998 single 'If God Will Send His Angels', this one with with re-cut vocals by Nelson. On a visit to Dublin Nelson recorded his vocals in the bands' studio - after U2 had recorded their version.

The Essential Willie Nelson, a two-disc, 41-track career retrospective celebrate the artist's 70th birthday and is released next week. Featuring chronologically arranged songs spanning 41 years and nine record labels, an accompanying booklet includes testimonial from Bono - along with Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Bonnie Raitt, Kid Rock, Kris Kristofferson, and Ringo Starr.
