Holland Returns With More Big-Name Friends

Former Squeeze keyboardist-turned-talk show host Jools Holland is prepping a second star-studded album of guests fronting his band. Due May 27 via Rhino, "Small World Big Band Volume Two: More Friends" features the talents of such diverse performers as Bono, Norah Jones, Dionne Warwick, Ray Davies, Robert Plant, and Huey of the Fun Lovin' Criminals across its 22 tracks.

Backed by Holland's band, Grammy queen Jones offers "In the Dark," while Bono pulls out the heartfelt U2 number "If You Wear That Velvet Dress." Veteran Welsh superstar Tom Jones turns out "Don't You Kiss My Cheek," and the Stereophonics join Holland to tackle the classic "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face."

Others who contribute to the upcoming album are Jeff Beck, the Blind Boys Of Alabama, Badly Drawn Boy, Bryan Ferry, Edwin Starr, Chrissie Hynde, Marianne Faithfull, Sam Moore, Beverley Knight, Ruby Turner, George Benson, and Jimmy Cliff.

The set follows last year's "Big Band Rhythm & Blues," which featured the likes of Eric Clapton, Sting, and David Gilmour, among others. The set debuted at No. 19 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and featured George Harrison's final song. "Horse to the Water" was recorded by Harrison and his son Dhani with Holland's band shortly before his death and bore the copyright "R.I.P. Limited 2001."

Holland has U.K. tour dates scheduled beginning in May and lasting through the end of the year. For more information, visit the artist's official Web site.
