Paris Las Vegas Rocks with Smash Hit Musical ''We Will Rock You'';
Rock theatrical based on music of Queen comes to America.
2/24/04.

LAS VEGAS, Feb 24, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Paris Las Vegas in association with Tribeca Theatrical Productions co-founders Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal and Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor today announced the lavish rock musical 'We Will Rock You'will open at Paris Las Vegas in September. De Ni ro, Rosenthal, and May and Taylor of Queen, are four of the hit show's several producers, who also include original UK producer Phil McIntyre.

The show, which features 25 of Queen's greatest hits -- including 'Bohemian Rhapsody,''We Are The Champions,''Another One Bites The Dust'and 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love'-- has played to sell-out crowds and standing ovations at every performance since it opened in London in May 2002, in a smash run at one of the largest venues in London's West End. The show already has played almost 600 performances and to date grossed $75 million. The extended engagement at Paris Las Vegas marks the first run of the show in the United States.

The show will be presented in the Paris Theatre Des Arts, an intimate 1,450 seat venue which will provide an extraordinary setting for audiences to experience the music and dance of 'We Will Rock You,' which also features complex laser light effects and six gigantic plasma screens.

'We Will Rock You'is designed and lit by a team responsible for some of the biggest international theatre productions and rock tours the world has seen: designer Mark Fisher has designed shows for Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and Janet Jackson. Lighting designer Willie Williams created the acclaimed U2 multi-media shows.

'Queen's music is timeless,'said Robert De Niro. 'We think this show is going to really rock Las Vegas.'

'Bringing a production show of this caliber to Paris Las Vegas underscores Caesars Entertainment's commitment to entertainment excellence,'said Anthony F. Santo, senior vice-president, Western and Mid-South regions, Caesars Entertainment, Inc., the parent company of Paris Las Vegas. ''We Will Rock You'is a great complement to our other entertainment offerings at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the Flamingo and Bally's, and serves to strengthen our position as the heart of Las Vegas entertainment in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.'

''We Will Rock You'has shown that the legendary appeal of Queen's music has never ended,'said Jane Rosenthal. 'We are very excited about the musical's opening in Las Vegas, as Queen has such a huge following of adoring fans here in the U.S.,'she added.

'Paris Las Vegas is excited to host the first U.S. production of this amazing rock musical,'said Bobby Yee, president of Paris Las Vegas. 'As Las Vegas rapidly emerges as the entertainment capital of the country, visitors are looking for more sophisticated entertainment options. 'We Will Rock You'is exactly the type of world-class entertainment experience that our guests expect to find at Paris Las Vegas.'

Ben Elton, the noted comedian, scriptwriter, film director and novelist is the musical's playwright and will adapt and direct the Las Vegas production. Elton previously collaborated with Andrew Lloyd Webber on the West End musical 'The Beautiful Game'and won an Olivier award for his play 'Popcorn'which ran in the West End for two years and at present is under option to Ridley Scott for a feature film.

Co-producers Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal had long been interested in working with Queen, and contacted the band's manager Jim Beach eight years ago about the possibility of developing a project together. The end result is 'We Will Rock You,'which features a futuristic world where conformity rules and all musical instruments are outlawed. A group of underground radicals ultimately decides to rebel, and set to the sounds and lyrics of Queen's greatest hits, the story of the battle of the individual against the system is played out in Ben Elton's unique satirical style.

Mark Fisher, production designer for 'We Will Rock You,'has created some of the most memorable rock concerts ever staged, including 'The Wall'for Pink Floyd, 'Steel Wheels'and 'Bridges to Babylon'for the Rolling Stones, and 'Zoo TV'and 'Popmart'for U2. He also has designed two NFL Super Bowl halftime shows, spectacles for Jean Michel Jarre, and 'IllumiNations 25'for Walt Disney World and directed and designed the acrobatic Millennium Show at the Dome in London. Recent work includes Nelson Mandela's 46664 Concert in Cape Town, Shania Twain's latest USA tour, MTV's European Music Awards in Edinburgh, and Robbie Williams''Escapology'European tour. Current work includes the halftime show for Super Bowl XXXVIII, production design of the new Cirque du Soleil show opening in Las Vegas in June, 2004, the design of the opening ceremonies for the Winter Olympics in Turin in 2006, and 'Barbarella', a new musical opening in Vienna in March, 2004.

De Niro and Rosenthal's production company, Tribeca Theatrical Productions, is one of three producing entities behind the musical, along with Phil McIntyre Promotions and Queen Theatrical Productions.
