Whispers in Love and Peace

Hi there, I have just listened to Love and Peace and in the first 20 seconds Bono is whispering something very low. I can't make it out. Don't know if this has been posted before but does anyone know what he is saying?

I could almost swear I hear "Please... I can't see anything... Please..." towards the end of that whispery bit. Then again, I'm very good at mishearing lyrics even when they're sung clearly, so
