Does he? Bono's always struck me as being completely non-sport focused. I thought Larry was the football supporter in U2 (according to Flanagan's book).

I think they all enjoy football to an extent. Larry might be the most passionate about it, but the others have all gone to games and watched it on TV (or so I've read), and so probably do have a favourite team.

they were all at the Irish national game before the Slane Castle concert in 2001, they flew by helicopter from the stadium to Slane

They might have more of a passion for the Gaelic game. I remember when the Aussies went and took on Ireland in an International Rules match in about 99-2000, the news showed footage of U2 (or maybe just Bono on his own) rocking up to watch the game.

Maybe they support Derry or Kerry or Limerick or whoever...

Didn't U2 (or Larry especially) write a song for the Irish team when they embarked on their World Cup oddyssey of Italia '90. Just thought I read about that somewhere?
