Here we goes again. It might be a few days until the next installment, but I'll try and get my arse in gear and get it out to you all. Thanks for all the kind words.

Disclaimer: Not true, never happened. Blah blah blah. A few swears in this as well.

Here we go!

----

After being escorted to the door, Adam opened up and the cat quickly rushed down the steps purring and meowing at the strange men. Ever the ham, he would make friends with anyone. Especially those that patted him on the head and commented on what a lovely kitty he was. Something Adam did immediately after seeing him.

"I hope you'll excuse the mess. I haven't done much to the house today since I was planning on shovelling for a few hours."

Bono sat her down on the stairs while she took off her boots and then took a seat beside her as the rest of the lads came in with Larry closing the door as he stepped into the foyer. She blinked and smiled inwardly as she came to terms with the fact that her favourite band, the band whose music had rescued her time and time again, were standing here in her foyer. If she thought she could have gotten away with it she would've pinched herself. With days that seemed to forge together as one entity, this was certainly a welcome respite from the gray days and unending nights. In fact, she had a fleeting thought about sending a thank you card eventually to the plow driver. Not that she exactly was loving the now throbbing bump on her head.. but she had to admit that if it weren't for that twist of fate, this probably wouldn't have happened. She noticed them all staring at her now. Oops, had they caught her daydreaming?

"I'm sorry Adam, I missed that. What did you say?"

"Do you have a name, dear?" asked Adam. He was looking rather comfy in a heavy wool coat. In fact, of the four, he seemed the most prepared for the Canadian cold.

"Oh pardon my manners. I think they must've leaked out when I was walloped. I'm Serena." and she shook Adams hand and then the rest of theirs. Bono went to start introducing the others and she stopped him before he was able to get a breath out. " No worries. I know this probably sounds creepy, but I already know who you guys are. Which is a relief, because there are some yahoos around here. Glad it was you that stopped and not them. Not that the yahoos around here are all bad.. but.. " She stopped herself and Bono let out a low chuckle.

"Larry, if you go downstairs you'll find a big green winter Canadian army jacket. It'll keep you mighty toasty. It looks just like the one I'm wearing... There are also warm gloves and toques. You really should cover your ears, the windchill today is a bitch. Oh and please ignore the mess down there."

"Toque?" Larry asked

Serena pointed toward Edge's head. "It's the same thing as Edge wears, except you pull it down over your ears, so that they don't freeze off. And it helps keep your noggin warm too."

"Ah okay" replied Larry as he headed down to the basement. He re-emerged wearing the military jacket, a pair of mitts and a yellow and white toque which the rest of the lads were snickering about. " I fucking love this jacket!"

"Lawrence! Watch your mouth" sniped Edge.

"Nothing I haven't heard before, boys. Yes, they are great coats." She paused a second and continued "Thanks so much for doing this."

Larry smiled softly and then headed back outside. Serena couldn't believe it. She got a smile out of stone scowl Larry Mullen Jr. If her head wasn't aching so bad, she would probably be quite pleased with herself.

Adam had decided that he would help Larry with the yard and Serena had sent him downstairs to get outfitted. Serena went to stand back up again and rose too quickly as a wave of dizziness caused her to nearly fall backwards. Had it not been for Edge's quick owl like reflexes she likely would've fallen right on her back. With Bono's arm around her waist and Edge keeping a hand on her back they made their way upstairs and into the living room where Bono plunked her down onto the couch. Serena blushed suddenly at all the U2 fan stuff she had out that day. U2 by U2 was sitting by the couch, alongside a sketchbook. Oh dear God, please don't look at the drawings, please don't look at the drawings. The Milan DVD was still in the player, though the telly was off. Bono had picked up U2 by U2.

"I've heard about this." He said, flicking through the pages. "Is it any good?"

"I hear those guys are right gits" said Edge. "Real uptight, up their arses and shite. Especially that guy there" Serena looked to the page and it was Bono dressed up as Macphisto.

"To be honest, Macphisto always kind of scared me a little." whispered Serena

Bono looked up, a surprised look on his face. "Really? I guess I can kind of see it. But it was just me you know. Just me with white paint smudged on my face. That's all." He reached over and pulled her reassuringly to him. He actually seemed genuinely disheartened that he had scared someone, even just a little bit.

"I totally had nightmares about Macphisto" snarked a straight faced Edge. " I dreamt he would chase me and tell me he wanted to dress like a woman and sit next to him in one of his music videos. He wouldn't ever touch me, just blow his cigarette smoke my way. It was really more of an annoyance than anything. And let me tell you, nothing gets that feckin'' white face paint out of shirts! Bono came off the stage once and wiped the sweat off his face with one of me best aftershow shirts. Just a real comfortable black shirt and he smudged that feckin' white guck all over it. It was disgusting. And smelly. I don't know why it was smelly, but it was."

Bono openly laughed and Edge grinned. "Man sweat plus makeup equals smelly results apparently, Edge. I never heard the girls complain about it."

Serena had let out a loud chuckle.. she knew she had a distinct laugh, like that of a hyena. At its first appearance, it startled Bono and he jumped slightly. Then he gave her an odd glare with raised eyebrows, as if surprised such a loud noise came from such a small person. She was feeling a bit better now, but still the bump on her head throbbed and she knew she'd likely need to ice it and maybe get a couple tylenol. She went to stand and Bono put his hand lightly on her arm.

"Ah ah, and where do you think you're going missy?"

" Well, I was going to grab some ice from the freezer to hold onto this bump and maybe get a couple aspirin. Plus, I'm being a terrible host. I was going to put on the kettle since I know how you irish lads like tea and pastries."

Bono shook his head.

"Nope, can't let you do that."

"But I'm fine, really!"

"Uh huh, good 'ol Edge will get whatever you need. Won't you my beanie obsessed friend?"

Edge had been watching Larry and Adam working in the driveway. He was musing over how much Larry was doing, and how Adam was marveling at all the little birdies that were landing in a nearby feeder. They'd dart in, grab a seed and then fly back to a branch. Adam seemed to be hypnotized by their movements which apparently was irritating Larry somewhat since they had halted any chance of Adam shovelling anything. Edge saw Larry stop pushing the scoop and mouth something his way but Ads seemed undeterred. He just stood there calmly leaning on his shovel, staring at the birds. In fact, it looked like he was talking to them. Edge chuckled.

"EDGE!"

"Jaysis, what! Oh, yes, yes, of course. Which way Serena?" And she pointed a finger to the right. "You may want to have a gander out the window, Bono. Adam is talking to the birds. Yep, I'm not fooling. Talking to them.. "

Bono smirked. This had turned into quite the interesting day indeed, and he couldn't deny himself the fact that he was actually enjoying it. Not that he wanted this poor dear to get socked in the head, but it was a nice respite from the driving.. and from Larry's constant whining about why the hell they didn't fly. In fact, all the lads seemed to be enjoying themselves today, even Larry. This was a needed rest-stop. He wondered if they would've stopped had Serena simply been standing shovelling snow, completely oblivious to their passing car. No, probably not. Fate works in strange ways sometimes.

"Bono?" her voice snapped him back to reality.

"Yes dear?"

"What exactly are you guys doing in New Brunswick. I mean, this is seriously the last place I'd ever thought to have seen you guys. Though I've often daydreamed about it, but that's as close as I figured you'd ever get to visiting here. Though I have been hoping maybe they'd book you in Moncton sometime. It's probably just plain wishful thinking."

"Actually, we're on our way to Moncton."

"What!.. you are... "

"To look over the site.. check out the area and stuff. See if it's a suitable place for us to perform. Not in the winter of course, but that would be interesting wouldn't it?"

"You'd all freeze your nu... your hats off. You'd freeze your hats off. But don't think us Canucks wouldn't attend an outdoor show in the middle of winter. The cold makes you do crazy things.. we'd be there in droves."

What a GREAT, lovely story, thanks for posting another chapter!

The idea of Larry and Adam in the driveway with Larry working and Adam talking to the birds is hilarious.
