Before I post I wanted to ask you all's opinion. Did anybody hear read in the U2news section that Bono recorded a duet with J-LO?
Well I read it and it turned into a 7 page thread wich eventually had to be closed because people were being nasty twords Bono and it also turned very political. People were saying that if this turns out to be true then they were gonna loose all respect for Bono and they were gonna stop listening to U2. A lot of people are pissed about this news and they're also saying that Bono is kissing ass. Personally I was rather surprised that Bono would recored a duet with J-LO. I am not a fan of her music at all, I dont think she can sing, but I have been a U2 fan since the 80's and my love for U2 and admiration for Bono are much great than my dislike for J-LO. I posted this comment on the thread and some idiot told me I was completely missing the point, I wanted to respond but the thread was closed. I understand why everybody is pissed, I mean Bono and J-LO singing together!!!!!! that is very shocking but still, I love U2 to much to like, stop listening to their music.

So I just thought maybe you guys can give me your opinion, if you want. If not at least i got to vent. What do you guys think of this piece of news?

Well, if it's true, I personally would not think differently of Bono. I'm sure he has his reasons for singing with her. I think I remember reading somewhere that one of the reasons the guys contributed the Elevation song for the Tomb Raider movie was to market their music toward a younger audience. Maybe this is a similar move? She is popular with the younger pop kids.

Whatever the reason, I think it's sad if people think differently of him or stop listening to U2's music, etc. I'm willing to have an open mind... we haven't even heard the song yet... it might be cool.

people will complain about anything. I don't think I would mind hearing a duet with Bono and J Lo. I don't like her but I love Bono's singing too much to not want to hear it. I like when he sings with other people whether it's a duet or different musicians. It's just one song. Who cares.

Eight pages, now that's definitely more like it!!! Kristie, re your stills appearing on mrtheedge.com, Sarah visits Edge Day threads and does a little mining for her site, I'm sure if you e-mailed her she'd give you your fair credit for your fab stills.

It's a sad, sad day... today I realized that I accidently deleted the Elevation video Edge stills from my puter. When I make stills, I usually make A LOT more than I upload and post, and then I eventually burn all of 'em on a CD to store. I went to do that today, and realized I didn't have any of the Elevation Edge stills on my puter, or on a CD that I had burned previously. So they're gone. The only Elevation Edge stills I have now are the ones upload on my server.

About the J.Lo thing, I'm sure a lot of people said the same when he recorded those songs with The Corrs, or the What's Goin' On thing, or I'm not your baby with Sinead, etc... There's always going to be things that Bono and the guys will do that certain fans will not approve of, and some will go to extremes and make a big deal out of such things. I don't like J.Lo but, hey, I don't have to buy the CD when the song comes out if I don't want to... And that will not erase all the great music Bono and the guys have done!!!
