You've got me thinking about things in conversation form. Everytime I have a conversation with someone and it's about U2 at ALL I want to post it but I never do. Today is an exception, this convo is fabulous.
The scene: Best Buy, U2 section (of course)
Starring: Me and this other guy we shall call Gary.

I'm shuffling through U2 stuff to see if they have something I don't have.

Gary: Are you sure you don't want to be in the hip hop section?
Me: *thinking wtf?* Yea, I know where I am.
Gary: 'Cos I know that's what all the homies are grooving to these days.
Me: *again thinking wtf?* Yeah...ok...ummm...
Gary: U2 is good.
Me: Yea, they are.
Gary: Maybe they need to be more hip hop?
Me: No. They don't.
Gary: Right. Ok then. Have a good weekend.

What the HELL! M'eh, good entertainment. Let us all hope they will NEVER do a hip hop record. Though that IS what the homies are grovin to these days.

I've always defended U2 in everything that they've done, whenever they've been called uncool (example: the whole POP era), disagreeing with the critics, the haters, the nonbelievers, etc.

But if they ever became hip hop I would have to laugh with everyone else.
