question on bono

Hello,every1! I have read once in an interview about Bono having lived for one year in Israel. Does anybody knows anything on this matter? What year?

Neither have I. The band spent much of 85 touring and Bono and Ali went to Africa but Israel?

The *interviewer* had spent a year in Israel(they were talking about the situation in Palestine)--but the statement was poorly phrased when written down, so at first the reader may think that Bono said it.

No. We had a thread on this once before. It turned out it was the AUTHOR of the interview who had lived in Israel one year and added his details to his comments about Bono living in Africa, which confused people.
