Not really. Drea would know better than me, but the lakeshore is really close to downtown, and when I've been in Toronto on really hot days, it's worse, because of that effect whereby the concrete and urban setting retains the heat.

Harbourfront is right next to the lake (obviously) and is tolerable in this weather... but downtown? Not fun Neither is North York, where I'm currently sweating my ass off
