I didn't get to say anything to him though..he passed by me too quickly :( I wanted to give him a hug but there were too many people.

Tre, I knew you wrote music but hadn't realized you wrote lyrics to your songs as well. Thats very cool :up: Lyrics are definitely one of the most challenging things to write. At least for me, I don't have a great sense of timing and rhythm when it comes to words :reject: not a good thing for a poet and prefessional writer :lol:

Bri - I learned a long time ago to read all the words first - I didn't raise my hand at all :tongue: :wink:

The best songs are personal to the writer; but they can make the reader/listener feel like they are about them :)


I've written a song or two but I'm not great with the music - I know the words would have to change as the music developed, too, so I've never done much with them

Thank you very much :) My songs would all end up being unbearably long, ... I'm a rather wordy person :lol:

I wanted to be a musician very badly when I was young, but it never really worked out. had a couple of short lived bands, did a couple of songs at the more 'novelty' type recording studios, never went far with any of it.

You seem to have a real love of the music you make, and a talent for it. Keep it in your life, don't let 'real life' get in the way :wink:

what's ironic is as a little kid my mom (piano player, very musical) tried to teach me piano but i wouldn't do it and quit, stayed away from music! i can play a little bit of piano though:wink: and i always hated english schoolwork and now i find myself loving guitar & music and writing songs :laugh: funny how things work out :shrug:
 
Definitely :yes: Music, art, and language/literature - all things which can't be appreciated if you feel like they're being forced upon you.
