World Trade Center, Empire State Building, Sears tower - they've all held that title - I don't know about the CN tower though

Hmm, maybe I'm thinking of the Sears tower... and I don't even know where that is. Seattle?

chicago

you are probably thinking of the space needle - that's in Seattle

Oooh, Weldy will never forgive me for messing that up... *hides*

So many pointy buildings... how's a girl supposed to keep it all straight!?
They've just built the Eureka tower here... it's not going to break any world records but it's very shiny and is apparently the tallest residential building in Australia... maybe. Probably the most expensive to live in too!

*peeks out from behind shield* What, no howls of derision for watching Forever Knight? :D I was totally in love with that guy for a while there. Never did see the end of the series, stupid Channel 9 was airing it in the dead zone where they hide Star Trek, and dropped it before it ended. Bah.
I think it was supposed to be TO in the show, they referenced the tower in one episode cos there was some drama happening on top of it... Of course, if they called the tower by a fictional name, I wouldn't have known the difference...

I figured the tower was a famous land mark but I couldn't remember what it was called... it was the tallest building in the world for a while, wasn't it? Or is it still?

I used to watch it in reruns every so often :D

The CN Tower still is - to the best of my knowledge - the World's Tallest Free-Standing Structure *g*

You need to come to TO sometime and I'll take you there  It's practically next door to the ACC, where U2 plays now when they're here :D

Honestly? I have no idea - I surprised myself by knowing that :p

Mostly it comes from dicussions after the WTC fell on 9-11 I think :hmm:

the Space needle and the CN tower look a little alike in photos

Hooray for tall things! :D

I would love to visit Toronto, and several dozen other places... and I have this daydream that U2 will suddenly decide to play a show in a city I just happen to be visiting when I'm overseas...

Hopefully I'll strike it rich one of these days and we'll get to travel as much as we want to

I'm definitley coming back to TO soon though, Drea

:D You've seen the thread about the Interference gathering being planned for London (ON) in July, right? Be a shorter trip for you, and you could hit TO either before or after... *tempts* Cross at Port Huron, take the 402 from Sarnia to London... I'm going no matter which weekend they make it :D

Ah, yeah - good point :yikes:

I'm glad you liked the pic Weldy - I don't know what it is about Architecture that fascinates me so much but I think a photo of a city skyline or photos of certain structures are absolutely beautiful

Oh...you should check out the Chicago skyline at night if you are on a boat at Navy Pier.....I did it for an after-prom thing and it's really  worthy.
