i am in the process of making my u2 best of live anthology, which is 6 cds. can you ladies PLEASE help me with cover art ideas. i want this to be really cool. here is the setlists so far , i still have more time on each cd so its not 100% complete.

I recently made these, but I only had 2 CDs:

Rick, the tricks I've used in the past are if you're doing more than one, they should be consistent. For example, the front and back pics should "match" or be from the same era/photoshoot. Everything should be pretty much equal in color/tone. I prefer to use one image rather than collages. Sometimes they look pretty amateur. It's also best to use large images and crop them or scale them down rather than increase the size (which drastically decreases the quality) of smaller images. If you're doing live sets, try using six of Otto's pics (maybe pick one clear photo for each band member and two of one-or-more of them), or six of the REALLY excellent black and white pics from the Slane concert (J. Rinaldi) and London shows. I can dig these up if you're interested.

LivLuvANdBootleg, those are awesome!!! I am very interested in those pics. how did you get the picture color the same. i am teaching myself how to use photoshop. did you do that on p hotoshop, and if so, how?

I do have Photoshop but didn't use it for that. I used good old fashioned Paint. I had some pics in mind and went through mine until I found ones that matched. I was a mixture of live and studio songs (It was a present for my boyfriend and he gave me the tracklist),

sounds really nice. i was doing a mix of live and studio but it just got to be a pain when i couldnt choose live or studio for certain songs so i am going to do both seperate. please give any suggestions , even on the set lists. i am going to take the day and work on this!!!!!

The hardest part was sizing the images. I measured the size for the back and side tabs as well as the cover and one folded page to write the tracks on. Then chose images and cropped them, not necessarily to size, but to scale. Then I downloaded a little image program where I could enter the exact dimensions so they printed right. As you can see above, my two back inserts are slightly different sizes, I believe the top image is the closest to actual size and the third one had to be slightly enlarged for printing.

i bought a program that made covers for cds, but it really doesnt help with designing them very well. so i went to a u2 cover art website and saved a couple of different backs and fronts, went to photoshop, painted white over the cover art, saved it. and now i am using the sizes of those to go over the white background and create my own covers.

i found another website, www.u2pages.com and they have tones and tones of pictures. some of which i have seen on pleba and some i havent. so i am trying to decide which pics to use. 6 cds. each cd is going to be a different stage of the band as far as the cover art goes. the first one would be the early stages and the 6th one would be elevation tour to present time.

It's from PopMart in Chile. That day there was a football match between England and Chile. Chile won, so U2 wore the chilean t-shirt.
