Hopefully the theme park responds to my application soon, would be great if I could work there a few days as well! I just want to work as much as I can this summer to save up for the next year. That'll be one expensive uni disaster. Bloody government making studying way more expensive.

Aw your contract is already over? So did anything change in the meantime or was it still boring as hell?
That would be fun to work at a theme park! I definitely understand about needing to work so you can afford to go to school. On my summer breaks from university, I never had any time off because I had to work every day in order to make enough money to pay for my share of the tuition costs. Oh well. It ended up working out okay in the end. I hope you get the hours/money you need to cover your costs. It sucks how expensive school can be.

It was still very boring. There was absolutely nothing to do. Plus, the amount of crazy that I had to deal with from customers was horrible. I am NOT cut out to deal with customer service, which is why I didn't want to do this job in the first place. But I took it because I needed the money. NEVER AGAIN. And it turns out that the person that I was covering for had been on medical leave, but she'll be back next week. I'm glad.

Yeah exactly, it'd be fun, and I'll get hours. And it's mostly outside, so that'll be nice too.

Uni costs weren't bad, but I want to start my Master's degree next year, and that blows, because government decided this year that they're ditching the free public transport card and financial aid for all Master students starting this summer. Just the train is going to cost me about 200 euros a MONTH to get to uni and back. And then tuition costs above that. Yugh. And they want people to study? Yeah, most people are NOT going to do that now.

Shame it was so boring. So what was so horrible about the customers? Complaining?

Being outside is the best! I really miss the summers when I was a kid and then when I was a bit older I worked at camp, because I was outside all day every day.

That's ridiculous that they're getting rid of that benefit for students. You'd think that they'd make it easier on students trying to get to and from the campus.

Yeah, the worst parts were the complaints/yelling/threatening. One guy was screaming his head off and I was so scared that he was going to pull out a gun, that's how crazed and pissed off he was. He was threatening to report us to the news station or whatever, as if doing THAT would do him any good. He asked me for my name, but one of the big burly guys came out and took him into a side meeting room and took care of him before I could do that. I was totally going to tell him my name was Shaniqua (the fake name I give when I don't want ppl to know my name). Dammit! I knew there was no way I'd be getting in trouble, but still - I wasn't about to tell him who I really was.

People were VERY abusive on the phones as well. Plus one of my co-workers is a bit nutty too, but that's a story for another time.

Yea outside is good, as long as there's shade though. Otherwise I burn to a crisp.

Exactly. Bloody idiots they are. Lots of students are now quitting after their Bachelor degree because they can't afford the Master. And people are tending to go a lower level than university to avoid having to pay a 3000! euros fine if they study too long.

Wow that's pretty nasty. Sorry to hear you had to go through all that shite.

There's a fine if you go to school for too long?! WTF???!! That's so ridiculous!

Thanks. It wasn't fun, but there's only one more day. I'm glad to have gotten work/a paycheck, even though I was miserable for most of the time, and hopefully there will be MUCH better things for me in the future. Like the food blogging position I applied for at the beginning of the month. Applications are being accepted for one more week, then they'll be getting on with the hiring process. Fingers crossed I'll get it, because that's my dream job!

Yup. While our government ministers have all studied 7-10 years, we all will get a fine if you take 2 years longer than you're supposed to. I have learning problems, so I'm already in my 2nd year. Thank fuck they weren't allowed to put it to current students too, or I'd have to pay for this year right now. Well pardon me if some of us have more issues and can't study sometimes.

At least it's money and some experience. Hope you can get that position, sounds really cool.
