Hi All: Wanted to let you all know that we are swiftly moving through Phase II of Music Rising and helping several churches and schools in the Gulf Region. Its unbelievable how many people still need help. Did you know that most of the churches that were destroyed in the Katrina aftermath are not even fully functional yet. We are replacing instruments so the choirs can sing again and the people in the parish can have a place to sing their praises. We are supporting the musical instrument needs of schools so the children can not only hear the sweet sounds of music but benefit from all those wonderful things that come from music education. On another note the Hard Rock has stepped in to help and will begin selling the Music Rising t-shirts with proceeds benefitting Music Rising. Over 70 locations worldwide will begin selling the t-shirt you saw Edge wore on the Grammys 2006 telecast, during the pre-game show at the Louisiana Superdome in September and throughout various other performances including the re-opening of the Preservation Jazz Hall in New Orleans. Stay tuned for more news on this blog. And a special thanks to all of you who have taken it upon yourself to have events and programs in your local areas benefitting the cause. Have a blessed Holiday Season from all of your friends at Music Rising!

Thanks for posting this! If anyone goes to an HRC, I recommend this holiday drink...I don't remember what it was called, but it had a candy cane in it! Um...I think it was warm and a cider...I can't remember. But it tasted gorgeous!

Music Rising benefit T-shirt selling at Hard Rock Cafe

That U2 Vertigo Tour in Hawai'i concert T-shirt wearing out already?
The Hard Rock Cafe in Waikiki is selling a benefit tee — designed in a partnership between U2 guitarist The Edge's Music Rising campaign and Hard Rock International — exclusively. Crafted by award-winning designer Bill Cathcart and sported by The Edge at last year's Grammy Awards and various Vertigo Tour stops, the $30 T-shirt features the winged Music Rising logo on a black background. (Music Rising was co-founded by The Edge in 2005 in an effort to replace musical instruments lost by Gulf Coast musicians in that year's devastating hurricanes.)

The limited edition shirt is also available at other Hard Rock Cafes in Hawai'i and online at http://www.hardrock.com/ Proceeds from the T-shirt's sales benefit charity.

If you actually went and looked at the HRC site, you would see that it is a new one. The HRC logo is on the back collar of the shirt.

And keep in mind that this shirt is for charity. Frankly, I don't think it should be a limited edition. Make and sell as many as you can! I already have one from Fanfire but I will buy the HRC version as well.

Skjuls and I went to the Hard Rock in Baltimore today and saw these Music Rising shirts.

They are not Edun shirts nor are they exactly the same as the ones bought from U2.com.............. Made in Thailand (not that we're complaning, skjuls is half-Thai!)

they are still cool and all but they are different!! Also, cheaper than the U2.com ones..... $24!!
