I adore Simon almost as much [ if not the same ] as Bono
I've never witnessed anyone making fun of Simon..but its possible since he is very loud & outgoing and some people consider him to be a fame hungry person

I think it's because some people had a perception that Simon was a bit on the pompous side. Having interviewed the man many years ago, I think he might have been a bit of an actor, saying all the right things just to charm me. It worked. Believe me, it worked! I had a crush on the man for 3 years afterwards!

Simon also tends to be a bit overweight if he's not careful. You especially see it in his face, which gets a bit doughy. And as he was marketed as a sex symbol, being a little overweight didn't work with his image, and also earned him some snarky comments.

These days, the man is looking good. And he's still with Yasmin, after all these years...!

being an [aspiring] journalist & a duranie that is basicly a dream come true!

& Yes he does tend to show when he over-eats but he still looks pretty slender these days
