Good Luck on your Lent sacrifice! I too am giving up something U2 for Lent. I usually do the chocolate thing but I figure I've had a great year and I owe Him one. So as of 11:59 pm tonite all my u2 cd's are being put in a drawer til Easter. I'm giving up listening to U2...so when the Grammy's come up i'll have to mute it when they perform. I told my sister and she goes "i'm sorry, i just hallucinated you're doing what?! I think I'm going to call Mom and Dad and have them come up for some sort of intervention. Are you experimenting w/any sort of drug?" It'll be hard but i'll have to try. I gave up listening to the Beatles the year the anthology came out! talk about bad timing!Well again good luck to everyone and their Lenten promises!

good luck girl. I am having a hard time deciding on what i should give up for lent. I thought about the typical chocolate, fast food bit, but i think i need something a bit more challenging. i thought about giving U2 up for lent also. I do not know if I can do it. I had to pack all of my U2 cd's,videos and dvds last night because i was moving some stuff in my room and after i was looking at my extensive collection, i thought that this might be a good thing to give up. i have to think about it though, i guess i can give up listening to the music and just log on to PLEBA to get the fix. TO all of you Catholic PLEBA's who are giving up something for lent...GOOD LUCK!!!

Wow ... you're brave ... I don't know how I would last without PLEBA.

I am giving up sweets for Lent ... and trust me, this is a huge challenge. Actually, last Lent, I gave up chocolate for Lent and everytime, I cheated, I had to put 50 cents in my "Lent fund" (which I gave to my church). I ended up gathering $6.50.

So this year, I am taking it a step further and eliminating all sweets.

Yay for Catholic guilt!
