It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

I love Christmas too, but sometimes I hate all the commercialism associated with it :sigh:

I think I saw decorations in stores/for sale in September :eyebrow: I remember the "good old days" when they waited until after Thanksgiving.

I love Christmas, but I hate the stress and commercialism that go with it. December is usually quite a stressful month for me. I've had such a crummy 2004 that I can't wait until New Year's Day!

I like Christmas b/c I LOVE shopping, regardless of who the purchases are for. It's already blizzarding in parts of Michigan.

I remember the good ol' days when it didn't start until after Thanksgiving too. They start it too early now to make more money. If I see one more commercial with subliminal jingly bell noises in the background I'm going to puke. I don't even like Christmas anymore. As you get older it becomes less fun and more a big financial burden. It shouldn't but it does. If it took 2 years off I'd be very happy. Once a year is too much now.

I detest shopping. That's one of the things that makes the holiday season stressful. We have a parking shortage in Birmingham anyway, but it gets ridiculous during the holidays. All of the parking lots are full and it takes about an hour just to find a damn parking place. I just might hit the Godiva place this year and kill a bunch of birds with one stone.

Yeah, that happens here, but I don't have a car so I just walk to the mall. It's about a 20 minute walk to the outskirts of the parking lot, longer if there's snow. Sometimes I'm sure I make better ground on my feet than people trying to drive their huge-ass gas guzzling SUVs all over.

I hate the way Christmas has become materialized. These days when I hear "christmas" the main thing that gets me excited is that it means i'll be out of school. stupid retailers.

I love all of it. The angry shoppers (and I work in retail), the crowded parking lots, the commercials, the weather, the decorations, the lights.

I feel like I should break into song. But instead I googled "Christmas" images and some c-r-a-p came up, let me tell ya.

I've never had a snowy Christmas! :(

It kind of bothers me that you start to see the commericals and hear the music in stores before Thanksgiving anymore. I was shopping and it wasnt even Halloween and I hear Christmas music in a store! Once it hits Thanksgiving then bring it on but it drives me crazy to hear it now.

I worked in retail for over 10 years. I hate the idea of ever working in a store again except this time of year. I always liked the holiday season and I get an urge to work at a store around this time of year. I did on the weekends last year. It wasn't so bad. However I really do not miss the overload of holiday songs that I had to hear all the time. I don't even celebrate Christmas and I think I know every song by heart.

im looking forward to christmas this year. my daughter turns 3 10 days before hand so she will be old enough to unwrap her own presents (and everyone elses). but in australia the commercials sound as shocking as everywhere else. ive actually watch one aimed at 5 year old to tell mummies and daddies to buy this certain product before santa does.

That's my girl!

I hope I never have a snowy christmas again.
I hate winter.

I rather enjoy Christmas... maybe not so much since my stepdad's grandkids come over now. I'm not much of one for small children. It's nice in the morning though, before anyone else shows up.
My favorite day in high school used to be the day before christmas break, because in the morning (for some reason everyone showed up at school at least 20 minutes before class started) everyone would be sitting in the hallways opening their presents from all their friends. I always liked walking around and watching people's good cheer, it warmed my heart and all that

...the whole christmas stuff in stores before thanksgiving thing is silly, though.
Everyone's getting scarves from me this year, I love christmas shopping but I'm just too poor to buy real presents.

I think this thread deserves a blast from the past

Me neither. One of the many disadvantages of living in the desert. :sigh:

let's trade! :hyper: I want to live in the desert so bad

I HATE snow more than words could ever express!!!!! :madspit:

Actually it's really pretty at first. I love it when it snows around Thanksgiving. The first major snowfall of the year is absolutely beautiful. The trees are covered in it and everything is white as far as you can see. "a world in white..." :shifty: But then you have to go out in it and freeze your ass off and try to drive. You have to get up earlier and expect to get home later because the traffic is so bad. I could go on and on but I won't :reject:

 I HATE WINTER!!!!!! :scream:

It only snows here up in the mountains. The first and last time I saw snow was in 1996. We haven't been back since my dad's new car can't handle rough terrain. *sigh*

I love winter! But then again, we hardly never experience tempatures under 40º in the daytime during the winter months. It's so nice. I completely hate everything about summer though.

Lol kristie...

I love Christmas, but not when it isn't time for it yet! Dammit, lemme have my turkey first!
Call me cynical, but it seem like just when were supposed to be getting ready for a Holiday in which we're supposed to be thankful for what we have, stores/ commericals seem to be peppering us with all types of stuff so we'll be in the mood to buy, buy, buy.

And I don't get snow for Christmas.
