"That creep had been a dick to me all year, mister Pike, but it was getting worse the last week.
Kept asking me out
The guy was in his late forties and my teacher
I tried telling the prinicpal but he ignored me. Said long time trustworthy members of the staff dont get called on the word of some street corner girl.
So finally he asked me to stay after class to "discuss my grade"
which had incidentally dropping every time I told him off.
After all the others had left he shut the door
I watched him shut it
wondering how I could let him just- shut the door like that.
He walked up to me. Smiling. Hands in pockets.
Asked me why I was being so difficult, it was obvious I wanted him
I told him to go fu*k himself.
It was a mistake
He pinned me up against the whiteboard. I remember the smell of the marker on it.
Pike was a lot bigger than me. The football coach actually

Anyway, I hit him so many times I broke my hand and part of his face.

Ria was in stitches laughing at poor Bono
"Look you. Enough with the slagging. Come here you"
He squeezed her hands and started to spin in a circle
Taking Ria with him, leaning out

A spinning scream issued from Rias mouth
Then a release of joy
The stars spiraling above her thrown back head
Bonos big hands held her tight. Never let her fall
Spinning until the ground met their bodies
Their laughs running down the beach in all directions
A blazing streak cut through the sky, fizzling out quickly and dying.
Ria felt Bono's hand find hers
Silently she made a wish with her eyes pressed shut
Beside her in the powdery sand, Bono watched the little crinkles beside her eyes, her lips barely moving
There was nothing he could wish for. His wish was laying beside him.
Hanging by a delicate thread
But still there by God
Her eyes emerged, lips still
A small breeze whipped through her hair
She turned her head towards Bono to keep the sand from blowing in her eyes
A solemn smile on her mouth
Getting closer. He reached his arm around her, pulling her close into his chest
One of her favorite places to snuggle. Her home. Her resting place
An overwhelming urge to burst out into tears came over her
She shuddered into Bono's body
Heat from his neck permeated her lips, so close, almost touching.
"Did you make a wish?"
A breath of Bono's skin
"Yeah, did you?"
He remained silent. Gave her a squeeze
A kiss in her hair
"The same one Ive always made"
"I hope your wish comes true someday"
"It already has"
Little electrical shocks tingled through her body, quickening her heart
She felt herself pulled closer into him and beginning to roll over on top of him, up and around
onto her back with Bono hovering over her like a tempting angel

She smiled cryptically, giggled
That brilliant smile she loved swept across his face through his mouth and into his eyes
"What?" he blushed
"Nothing" she grinned, pushing her fingers through his hair.

"I dont want this to end" His smile shrank down to a desperate half-smile
"Miami will always be here if you want to come back" she deliberately misunderstood him
Runnig her thumb along his cheek
Craving that tempting skin
"No baby, not Miami"
Ria closed her eyes
Sighed deeply....so tired suddenly
"How did you guess my wish, B?"
Opening her eyes, that skin was still there. tantalizing
Eyes. Hair. Mouth.....all eating away at her control
Holding her breath.
He was coming closer

Instead of her lips, he took a sidetrip to her forehead, groaning quietly
The feeling of his body pressed to hers was too much to handle at the moment.

The water was almost touching them now
He got up, helping Ria
"Bono?" Rias mouth was set. Troubled
Her eyes sought something to rest on. Something other than Bono.
"Yes?" His hand held hers, swinging from side to side
"I think"
A wave crashed in the silence as Ria struggled for words
"Never mind. Sorry. Can we just go back now? Im really tired"
Abandoning his curiosity, Bono wrapped his arm around her shoulders and slowly followed their own footprints in the sand.
