cujo, i know about the backwards pick thing, the first time i read that i was sitting there going "wait a minute! the pointy part is the part you're SUPPOSED TO use???" my best friend was visiting (she was the one who found the magazine for me) and she started laughing at me saying stuff like "you've been playing that thing for three years and you didn't know what the right side of the pick was?!?"...

i know about the upstrokes. watch the making of the joshua tree video, it's got a whole "learn to play WOWY with edge" bit...hehehe...

is that something that's rare? to use the other side of the pic. when I took guitar lessons my guitar teacher used the other side of the pic, but his pics were also very small.

i thought you were supposed to use the non pointy part but i said this outloud once and got laughed at...by a number of people too...

apparently edge has these blue picks made by some brand in holland or germany or something, they've got little bumps on one side for a better grip (i'm talking about the pick! still clean, don't worry)...more of a ringing sound comes from the bumps hitting the strings than justan orgdinary pick

someone said dunlop has similar picks...i don't know. i've just got the ones that i've either stolen from places in school where i was practicing or the free-bee ones they give you when you buy a pack of strings at one of the local guitar shops (they've got the store's name printed on them).

i didn't want to be the one to break the theme, but since it's broken, and i'm so good at going off on tangents, i can't really wait til next week (or two weeks since arw was hinting at an elevation edge day for next friday) to post these...

i'm totally making an idiot out of myself by doing this, cos it shows my sheer inability to do screen captures...but they're closer to being guitar pics than some others *cough*

i'm still trying to figure out a logical progression of these smilies...first yuo drool, then you faint and then combust? or do you combust before fainting? if you faint you're unconscious and can't really combust so easily, but if you combust first, there's nothing left of you to faint in the first place...
