If any of you are interested in reading someone's eyewitness report of Bono's magnificent day in Memphis back in Oct. 2004 when he was honored along with Rep. John Lewis by the National Civil Rights Museum where a lot of BF's pics are from,
here is the link:
Seen John Legend's stripped-down, piano-based cover of Pride (In The Name of Love) ? It's part of a two hour TV special marking the fortieth anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King.
Beautiful in its simplicity, Legend covered the track for 'KING' which is aired on the History Channel in the US this Sunday evening.
Catch the clip on YouTube below and find out more about the show, which also includes an interview with Bono,
***I was watching the History Channel this afternoon and heard a bit of john Legend's version. This Sunday the MLK story will air on the HC and there will be an interview with Bono
I was inspired to make a video tribute on this occassion combining my 3 favorite most inspiring elements... U2, Dr. King and Barack Obama! Hope you like... sorry about the poor sound quality.
This just started and the first 3 minutes was U2's Pride and Dr. King speaking. Gave me chills to hear Dr. King speaking with Bono humming in that part of the song.
edited to say: I'm referring to BonoFox's comment about The Dr. King special tonight on the History Channel.
Sorry trying to do to many things at once.
