I feel that I have formed wonderful friendships online.
I often times view it as being more than idle chit chat...
Afterall...my fiance and I first met in a chat room...

hmm, interesting.
I have met SO many wonderful people on line whom I truly consider my *friends*...and at times they are even more my true friends than those IRL...I tend to let things out more, open up more, be more "verbal" (with my fingers anyway) on line, than in person with some of my friends or family. Case in point, many people I've met on Pleba!
I have exchanged cards, chats, emails, and even Christmas/birthday gifts with many e-friends whom I've never met, nor even spoken to on the phone...usually because they are located either in another state or even another country! A good friend in Finland, God bless him, even sent me TWO U2 CDs for my birthday this year. Whatta guy! (and to think he's young enough to nearly be my kid!)
Still a bit leery of meeting someone romantically on line tho...that, I feel, should be done in person. Just my opinion.
I just love the internet.

Well, first I am going to get flamed but I think Uvie and Riddler bringing their chit chat here is spoiling the forum, you just want all the girls to act silly with you, you must feel you have a harem all your own! Can't you keep your chit chat on the chat and not put lots of threads here? This kind of thing pushes all the cool and droolworthy threads off the page too fast. Oh well, I know all you girls love these guys so go on and flame me but he asked for opinions!
About making friends online, I know lots of people who have met their lovers online, some have become soap operas and some have broken up marriages with cheating and too much porn. My cousin ran off to Australia with a guy she met on the internet, leaving her two kids behind with her parents.
Still, despite that and the chit chat here, I have to say that the internet is a whole world of endless possibilites and fun and knowledge that can only enrich our lives if used properly. It's really the coolest thing ever, isn't it?

Some people I've met online are completely insane and perverted, but I have had some very deep conversations with amazing people.... like w/ this guy I know who used to be the the military (he lives in another country), and we talked about the terrorist attacks for about 2 hours...... it was
