OK we all know how, when performing live, Bono loves to make up words to random songs either in the middle of, before, or after singing a U2 song. I thought it'd be fun to share cute lyrics you've heard him sing.

He sang these lyrics to the tune of "My Girl" on his birthday in Rotterdam in '93:

I got sunshine
On a cloudy day
I got a birthday
In the month of May

I guess you could say
I pretty much had it my own way
You?re my kind of crowd
You?re so funky and loud

OK go guys!! :hyper:

On one of the Boston Orpheum boots from 1983, Bono starts to sing "Let's Twist Again"...but when he gets to the part "Do you remember when..." he sings "Do you remember....the rest of the words?

"See the world in Green and blue
See Adam Clayton right in front of you!"

LOL! Cute. I love it when he forgets the words to stuff, lol.

At the Rotterdam show I just mentioned, when he sang One, he sang the first verse, and then, I don't know if he just forgot the 2nd verse or just didn't feel like singing it, but....he sang:

Did I disappoint you? (riff) ...Did I disappoint you? (riff)

You say
One heart, One love
One spirit, from above
One voice, ay! One tay!
(Yeah, I dunno what he thought he was singing there, lol.)
Carryyyy me home...

...And then on to the bridge and chorus. I dunno, but...whatever Bono lol.

Red Rocks: Instead of "under a blood red sky", Bono sang "Under a thundering cloud of raaaaaainnnn..."

Trying to throw his bass around the world."

WTF?? lol! A handycam? lol, I guess it's one of those things where you kinda had to be there, lmao.

Trying to throw his bass around the world, lol. Cute.

"Do you remember...the rest of the words?"

Hehe, that's cute. I like that one.

I still love the one he throws in at the end of "Where The Streets Have No Name" in the Rattle & Hum movie: "Oh, my darling, I wanna go there with you".

Wasn't there some made up lyrics that someone posted one time that dealt with Ali or something?

A woman needs a man
A fish needs a bicycle
I guess I'm always gonna need The Edge.

I still love his ad-lib to "I Will Follow":

I will swallow, I will swallow...

I have a clip of this glorious event if anyone's curious.

I've heard that...interesting....

Bono plays with One all the time.
Did you come here to play Jesus
To the lepers in your head

sometimes becomes
I did
or
to the lepers in your bed

During TGBHF in a concert before John was born he sang something like "My baby is having a baby" and during Spanish Eyes in Barcelona he also said something about her but I don't remember what

That was from the Zooeuropa bootleg, Dublin 8.28.93. Bono pulled Naomi Campbell up on stage, and she danced with Adam. At the beginning of the next song, Angel of Harlem, Bono yelled "Sweet dreams are made of this!" and began humming "Here Comes the Bride" - "Da DA DA DA, Da DA DA DAAAAAA....."

"Naomi baby!" Loooove that concert!!

Another good one from Edge's birthday during Elevation when bono sings Party Girl:
"I know a boy, a boy called Edge
That's The Edge
I've known him longer than I haven't
The Edge!"

Hehe, that's cute...I remember Spanish Eyes from that show:

"Wey hey hey!
Put an end to this tune!"

Also, from Rock's Hottest Ticket (4.29.87) during Springhill Mining Disaster, Bono gets a little snippy...

"Quit the whistling, this isn't the Beatles, this is U2 here!" :eyebrow:
