EMINEM'S BALLROOM BLITZ !

EMINEM made a rare live appearance at a secret gig in NEW YORK last
night.

Eminem walked onstage at New York’s Roseland Ballroom (October 28)
wearing a dark blue suit, white collared shirt, red tie, and a pair of
pink fuzzy bunny rabbit slippers.

The 2,500 capacity venue was decked out like a patriotic prom complete
with swanky cheese plates and an open bar in the VIP section, and
‘Shady National Convention’ signs, buttons and bumper stickers on hand
for everyone else.

The performance was a poorly kept secret, and most of the fans who
received tickets seem to have won them off a local radio station, who
broadcast the performance live.

The event was attended by U2 singer Bono, who wore a cowboy hat, and a
collection of hip-hop names like Redman, Obie Trice, many of whom made
guest appearances on stage.

The event began as a mock convention speech with Donald Trump
introducing Marshall Mathers, who stepped up to a podium and explained
his desire to run for office.

"I’ve witnessed the political rhetoric in this country – did I
pronounce that word right? Rhetoric?" he asked jokingly, adding "So
I’ve created my own party, the Shady party" which caused an eruption of
applause.

Then the stage set changed, and the show began. Eminem opened with new
the politically charged new song ‘Mosh’, performed while the stunning
new animated video for the song played on a giant screen behind him.

Over 20 different tracks were performed by Eminem and his guests which
included D12, Busta Rhymes, Proof, Obie Trice and 50 Cent, among
others.

Eminem performed tracks off his older records, like ‘Kill You’, but
stuck primarily to his new record, and to his friends’ material like
D-12’s hit singles ‘How Come’, and ‘My Band’, and 50’s forever catchy
‘In Da Club’.

Eminem closed with the first single off his new record, ‘Just Lose It’,
which he introduced by saying: "My whole career has been based on
controversy…my motto in 2004 is if you can’t take a motherfucking joke,
then beat it" – a reference to the uproar surrounding the video for the
song, in which Eminem mocks Michael Jackson.

Look how bored shitless he looks listening to Eminem. I feel your pain Bono!

:lmao:

They all do, really.

Check out the blonde woman behind Bono in the second pic.
She looks like she might cry at any moment.

Thanks Misty!

He said at the Grammys once that Eminem was coming from "a very pure place" so I guess he respects him for speaking his mind, or something. I wonder if his girls are fans.

While I am not an Eminem fan, I still think Adam should adopt that look;)

have you guys seen the new eminem video with all the people in that black hoodies? Maybe Bono was jsut tring to dress the part:wink:
but still - shirt, hoodie, jacket?......
and hat?

I read somewhere where Bono, Em, Dr. Dre were hanging out at some club/restuarant recently. sharing their thoughts on music, the business, etc. That's what the article said, anyway.
Forget where I read it, could've been here in interference for all I remember.
So yes I would venture to say he respects him for his type of music. I also know Bono and Dr. Dre are good friends.
Nothing wrong with that. Bono is known for having a variety of musical taste. *some say questionable, taste*

He sure wasn't smiling very much, however. Just a little sly smile in the pic's provided. Maybe he was just glad it was over and he could leave. Nice guy that he is, he didn't want to appear to be walking out on any of the other acts. IMO of course.
:bono: the

it was in the new Vanity fair, sue4u2. It was a few years ago after an awards show or something. Bono has made several references to Eminem's music, either saying he was a very good rapper, loved his "Lose Yourself" song, defended his controversial music.

Anyway, to the reason for my post....damn, thats one ugly jacket. Sometimes he dresses like a pimp and then sometimes his style is out there. Remember in the late 90's when he visited politicians and he wore those black suits (white dress shirt) with his hair slicked back, and he had those black fly shades on. What happened to that gear? Now I see him at benefits wearing Denim shirts and off-colored ties. I gotta love him for being original, but I dont know.

After writing this, I realize I did write this in PLEBA and might get viruses sent to my email for saying something about Bono (lol...even though its not even remotely negative). I love you girls, each and everyone of you

Yeah, I remember reading that article about hanging out w/the hip hop stars discussing music..I certainly am not an Em fan at all!
his musci can be so negative *even if to others it's called pure and honest* we have so much negative in our world as it is, I don't want to hear it in the music...But Bono seems to find him intresting..
About the wardrobe...I'm always on the look out for a certain straw hat when I'm in the Hollywood surrounding areas:wink:
i'm loving the shades, and velvet is IN this season

Bono certainly respects Eminem. He once compared him to a great French medieval poet/rogue, Francois Villon. That's quite a compliment.

The fact that she is within a two inch radius from Bono and looks that bored shows she must be some kind of mental defect....

Ha, so true! I'll tell ya one thing, if I was there I wouldn't be watching EMINEM the whole time...in fact I probably wouldn't even realize Eminem existed if Bono was two inches in front of me  I do like Em though, his new song is kinda extra-retarded but he has some good stuff...and I'm glad Bono respects him, that way we won't have to hear Em try to bash Bono in one of his songs :p

Bono is sure...original with his outfits. :D I'm not a big fan of the hat, but hey... other than that he's lookin pretty sharp. I love his weird outfits.
