PESARO, Italy -Luciano Pavarotti, convalescing at his villa in Northern Italy, got a visit this week from an old friend, Irish rock star Bono.
The legendary operatic tenor and the U2 frontman have known each other for a decade, first performing together at a Pavarotti and Friends concert in 1995 to raise money for Bosnian refugee relief. Pavarotti joined U2 two years later on the band`s single 'Miss Sarajevo' and at a concert in Sarajevo in September.
Bono visited Pavarotti at his home near Pesaro Monday, the Italian news agency Ansa reported, but the news was only released Wednesday.
