No; I thought it was very inappropriate for several reasons. First, it's the wrong song for that. Second, jeez--it's the guy's BUTT for God's sake! You don't know him!! Third, in front of tens of thousands of people is not the place to grab anybody's butt, unless you're both porn stars.

Very true Gina. We shouldn't always "blame" the girl. Some people should remember that it's Bono who pulls the girls up onstage (Though it's true that sometimes some girls pull themselves up onstage but that's another story). Like what he did with Melpop or cvultraviolet during THE FLY, many ppl said that these girls were too wild, bla bla, but it's BONO who pulled them onstage and laid them on top of HIM.

I think it's all the context. The song was the wrong song for it. When Bono is performing certain songs, then the context is right for a certain amount of groping. I do think that grabbing a total stranger's butt is different than kissing him. A man's heinie is much more personal than his lips. There may be a double standard somewhere in there, but I can follow my logic.

I agree that it is fairly inappropriate for a girl to grab Bono's butt, but I still think it's pretty funny. I don't think any real harm is done. I think the more inappropriate thing is that the girl pulled herself onstage. That kind ruins it for everyone else- Bono should have control over who he dances with. I understand that people want to take every chance they get to go onstage, but I think everyone should wait until Bono specifically pulls them up. Also, Stuck wasn't exactly an appropriate song to dance to, especially when the "dancing" involved grabbing Bono's butt- its message is pretty serious. I'd hate for random girls to try to climb on stage and starting dancing to BTBS or something equally as ridiculous.

I agree with you, GL. But in a way I admire the girl's gumption/entreprenurial spirit. But then again, who would want to have to force him to pull you up? That's no fun at all! I would want to be chosen, or not at all. It's just too undignified.

I do agree that it was inappropriate, as someone said, to grab someones butt (Bono's in this case) isn't very nice if you are not very close. Ok, rolling around a la melpop might have been just a little bit too much. But at the same time not... hmmm confusing...

But what happened in Boston on the night for the filming of the DVD, that was NOT inappropriate. It was very, very sweet! I have seen it a couple of times now on video and I find that part to be the sweetest, most respectful and most tender moment in the whole show. When I watch it I get the feeling that Bono's feeling sad about something and to place someones hand on their chest isn't inappropriate. I would be happy if he did because I would probaly be too nervous to even know where to place it so him leading me to an ok place would be nice. To be in the girls position you wouldn't know where to place it and just have it up in the air in fear of maybe harrassing Bono wherever to place it, it's nice of him to say it's ok to have it on the chest, that's how I took that gesture.
SO I find nothing inappropriate at all in what happened in Boston.

And as some others have said. I think most of us joke that we would grab his butt onstage. I think we all have too much respect for him to do that (except maybe Mona

) But we can joke and play around with the idea anyway. Some people take this place too serious. This is a dream and drool place.

I'm a bit confused by why people are saying that she pulled herself up on stage. I was directly behind about halfway back in the heart and from where I was, I could see that security was giving her a lot of help to get over the baracade across the gap and onto the stage.
