ScreamingMediaComedy duo Ant and Dec have told how slagging off U2 frontman Bono on air actually paid off for them.

The Geordies - and second generation Irish pair - boasted how a cheeky dig at the Dubliner while hosting SMTV resulted in the rock star sending them tickets to see one of his gigs.

Explained Ant: "We ran a competition to see them perform at Slane. We joked and said: 'Ooh, wasn't that nice of Bono to put on a jet for the winners and give us tickets as well? And he's going to put us up at The Clarence'. It was a wise crack.

"When we went in to work on Monday, they said Bono's people had been on and that he had been watching the show with his kids.

"He said we were really cheeky but invited us over. We had quite a few boozy nights in Dublin and one of the best was when we stayed in U2's hotel, The Clarence," added Ant. "It was amazing."

How about some pictures of The Boys, Jets & The Clarence.... ;)

Rachel D., did you see the movie "Love Actually?" Ant and Dec are in there...or as Bill Nighy (the Billy Mack character) says, "Ant and/or Dec." Ehrm, if you haven't seen the movie...never mind! :reject:
