  To The ones who saw The Unforgettable Fire & JT :combust:

My insanity didn't start until Zoo TV :|

4 zoo tv
5 popmart
8 elevation
6 vertigo (w/ 3 to go)

(i begged my parents to take me to a joshua tree show, but no luck, i was in 7th grade).

Damn, you guys are lucky. Vertigo's going to be my first time actually seeing them live. I missed Popmart and Elevation because I had no way of getting to the shows.

Unfortunately, I was way too young to attend earlier tours... I would give my left elbow to have seen Lovetown or Zoo TV. Especially Zoo TV.

I started with Popmart. I'd give anything to have seen ZooTV- the best U2 tour ever in my opinion.

Joshua Tree - Syracuse 10-87
ZooTV - Saratoga Raceway 8-92
Elevation - Buffalo & Albany
Vertigo - Toronto/MSG x2/Pittsburgh/Buffalo/Cleveland (?)

not sure what I was doing during the PopMart tour that would have made me miss it...

War Tour (May 83 I believe)
missed the rest of the 80s for some reason :banghead:
ZooTV (10/31/92 - Larry's Birthday, Dodger Stadium)
PopMart (Opening night, Las Vegas)
Elevation Tour (x6 shows)
Vertigo Tour (3 so far, 2 to go...) :hyper:

1 Joshua Tree (MSG)
1 ZooTV (MSG)
15 Popmart
15 Elevation
14 Vertigo (10 down, 4 to go)

You can see the advent of the internet kicked my show-going up a gear. I wanted very much to see them during the Unforgettable Fire tour, but wasn't on the ball back then...just barely got tickets to the Joshua Tree and ZooTV shows!

We've been at a lot of the same shows. I hate to say this about a U2 show, but the Saratoga Raceway show goes down as the most disorganized, chaotic event I have ever been to. For those who were unlucky to experience this, There was no seating for this event, except for right in front of the stage, for which we did have tickets (2nd row). My friend and I, naturally believing we could arrive moments before u2 takes the stage, so we could enjoy a few drinks, did just that. Big mistake. The ONLY way to get to our seats was to navigate through the "GA" crowd. No one wanted to give up their position, so it was forever getting to our seats. Of course, not knowing the layout of the seats, we first entered by the left side of the stage, of couse the ONLY entrance onto the field was the left side of the stage. We FINALLY get to the seating area, where we were told we would have to go around to the other side, because that is where our seats were. Now, the "other side" may not seem that bad. You remember that huge "2nd stage" that jutted out from the main stage? That's what we had to go around, through the GA crowd. Holy crap, I was fuming. At that point I was just plowing through the crowd, through the mosh pits, and finally made it to our seats. Fortunately, there were 3 opening acts for U2, so we didn't miss them, I was just relieved we made it to our seats, certainly that shouldn't have even been a concern. After the show I was listening to horror stories about traffic, and other problems people faced just to even get there. It's no wonder there was only been one other concert staged there since U2. They should have just played SPAC. Would have had less people, but it would have been more organized. They expected 55,000 people at the Raceway, and only 30,000 were able to make it.

But I was also at Syracuse and Albany for JT and Elevation, respectively. My first show ever was Amnesty, just after UF, and about a year before JT.
