Did anyone see Paul Anka sing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" on Letteman the other night. It's from an album of his called "Rock Swings", where he takes rock songs and sings them big band style. It was surreal, because he was not trying to be ironic or funny, this was legit, in his head. And the man has a good voice and has been singing for 50 years, so I respect him and all....but this was unfuckingbelivable. "With the lights out......less dangerous.....here was now, yeah....enterTAIN us.....I feel stoooopid.....and conTAYgeoussss....." etc.....odd syllable emphasis, weird inflections, etc. Freaked me out.
