Please, let it be true...
U2 and Pearl Jam together on the stage... Two of the best bands EVER IMHO...

Pearl Jam has a concert tonight at the ACC center and it has been rumored that U2 will join them on stage (it was on today's billboard.com article)...

Ooh, I have friends going to that gig.

I also did hear that U2 was staying in Toronto a couple more days so definitely within the realm of possibility!

Is it possible to post that article? Thanks!

Here it is. Information for the Chicago DVD release this fall is also included in the article:

"U2 has drafted Kanye West, the Arcade Fire, Patti Smith and Damian Marley as support acts for its just-underway fall North American tour. As previously reported, Dashboard Confessional and Keane are also opening various dates; an opening band has yet to be confirmed for the Nov. 13-19/Dec. 4-12 portion of the trek.

Marley will be on the bill from Oct. 16 in Philadelphia to Nov. 9 in Oakland, Calif., while Smith will support the Nov. 21-22 shows at New York's Madison Square Garden and the Arcade Fire will play Nov. 25 in Ottawa, Ontario, and Nov. 26, 28 in Montreal.

West will take a break from his own North American tour to open the last four shows of the U2 outing: Dec. 14 in St. Louis, Dec. 15 in Omaha, Neb., Dec. 17 in Salt Lake City and Dec. 19 in Portland, Ore.

Meanwhile, U2 was joined by longtime producer/collaborator Daniel Lanois and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder during Saturday's show at Toronto's Air Canada Centre. Lanois played guitar on a long version of "One," while Vedder chipped in a few lyrics on "Ol' Man River." It is rumored members of U2 will return the favor tonight (Sept. 19) during Pearl Jam's show at the same venue.

In related news, Interscope has set a Nov. 15 release date for the DVD "U2//Vertigo//2005 Live from Chicago," which was shot this spring over four nights in the Windy City."

hmm...but wouldn't U2 need to be in Chicago to rehearse for tomorrow's show?

That is what I would think too. They like spending time in Chicago too...but perhaps circumstances have kept them in Toronto

I have a friend at the show tonight in Toronto. He probably has a good lower level seat but I call him up to see if he can take some pictures.

If they do show up at the Pearl Jam show tonight, we should have audio after the show. You can buy a Pearl Jam shows the night of the show on their web site. It says they are usually available within hours of the show ending.

Well I'm not sure about them leaving the ACC nights 1-3, but they had a full police escort after Toronto 4. It was way more involved than just getting them back to the hotel from what I could tell. They were stopping traffic and I just assumed they were going straight to the airport with all of that police presence.

I would think Willie's replacement would want to do a run through for sure... unless he's been an apprentice of sorts...

Police escort? Stopping traffic? They sure know how to go out with a bang, don't they?

I demanded the same after my 4 night performance at the Lion's Club in rural Newfoundland....traffic was much lighter than Toronto, thankfully.

Got a text from friend and fellow poster Wenda who is at the Pearl Jam show, she just texted me with "U2 is back stage!!!"

Were they eating hotdogs behind first base and drinking like fish?

I can verify that. I was at the in and out ramp at several instances when the boys came and went during their stay at the ACC.

I left 3/4 of the way during 40 and when I got to the ramp.....there were two cops in the ramp. The door opened and a cop car escorted 4 vehicles......with another cop car behind.

Berries were flashing......looked like they were headed to the airport.

forums.pearljam.com says Bono came out for "Rockin In the Free World"

 How did he get there from Yankee stadium so quick?

I've already posted in another thread but I just got back from the show and Bono did join Eddie on stage for Rockin in the Free World and it was  Eddie also played a bit of A Sort of Homecoming, played the begining chords to Bad (claiming it was his favourite song about addiction), and refered to U2 on a number of occasions throughout the show. U2 and PJ

That's incredible...two of my favourites mingling and rockin' out:drool:

There's a few songs on HTDAAB that I think Pearl Jam would do wonders with, namely 'All Because of You,' 'Crumbs,' and 'Vertigo' (the latter of which has a similar riffing style to PJ's 'Spin the Black Circle').

With all of this intertwining of greatness, I'm fully expecting U2 to open for Pearl Jam this weekend in Newfoundland....everyone has a dream
