Anyone think we may have a new album in 2006?

Well, I think it's unlikely, though possible. Apparently Bono said there were 24 songs from the HTDAAB sessions and 11 were on the album. Even with the others released on iTunes, that still leaves a sizeable quantity, and he implied the other songs were album quality but just didn't suit the theme or style of HTDAAB.

And really, even if they don't have that material, they COULD record an album after the tour ends and have it out by late 2006 or early 2007 - they've recorded albums faster in the past - but I doubt they would, and maybe they can't nowadays.

I'm calling late 2007 as the date for the next album myself.

I don't think it'll ever appear live, but I think it should've been used instead of Vertigo x2 in Europe.
