I personally think the summer vacation here in CA is way too long.
It's like from Mid June till End August/Begin September.

I'm used to 6 weeks of summer vacation, like it is in Holland.
Not 3 months...

She gets a big check at the beginning of the summer and has to make it last until they get back (and then after they start, she waits another 4 weeks until the first paycheck).

It wouldn't be so bad is she was a little better at planning, but I can't talk because I spending too much on U2 shows .

6 weeks to recreate and enjoy nice weather seems long enough for me.
