:lmao:

I'd laugh if U2 held onto Mofo and didn't debut it until St Louis.

Well they held onto Crumbs until Minneapolis...I guess anything is possible.

Well then, now that I got the full Axver treatment, I guess I'll REALLY POSITIVELY maybe GO TO BED!

Goodnight Axver, Atikicat, Gabrielvox, and anybody else who joined us. See you all next week!

Care to describe the performance? It didn't seem as interesting or long as some recent shows. Of course it's always different when you're actually there.

here's my 2-cent review.... being a New Yorker, I've seen the boys at MSG, Giants Stadium, Byrne Arena (now Continental) & in Philly.. always an awesome crowd so I did not know what to expect in the midwest. I'm out here for business so I got to see the Tues Chicago show and now tonites... I had amazing seats for both since I went solo and got tix last minute

I thought the show was fantastic tonite and the Mke crowd stellar! Very into it, very excited. I love how Bono forgot the words to WGRYWH, how can I remember all these songs and the man who wrote them not. I could have done without Still Haven't Found... but it was a nice throw back. 40 was great, The First Time - nice.... I mean, to me these guys never play a less than amazing show. I loved it.

My pictures will be crap for sure, I don't understand how so many people get great photos... I was so close but all my stuff is like fireworks when they fall -

:)

can i make a suggestion?

Discotechque
Salome
Fast Cars
Gone
All Because

I have a thing for taking it down a bit but then ending huge..and the guitars I think would work out a bit better...

or swap Gone with ABOY

but definately Salome into Fast Cars....maybe even a segue!

Yes, great idea! I'd definitely put Gone last, though. I can't imagine ABOY closing an encore. Honestly, I don't think U2 should be using it in the encore at all. Vertigo/ABOY is a good combo.

So I wonder then if Milwaukee does have some curfew? If the crowd was that pumped, you wouldn't think they'd cut the show short...about 20 mins shorter than recent shows. I think Toronto 2 was the only other show as short (or shorter?).

Oops forgot about it being the encore..

I actually like opening a set with ABOY the intro is effective and gets peoples attention..

The Vertigo / ABOY thing is how we started playing the new stuff last fall....it was good...but I really like doing Vertigo and then something from Boy right after...U2 stole that idea from us dontcha know

JUST KIDDING...lol

G

edit: OK GOOD NIGHT!!!!! (damn computer blue crack addict  )

Philly had a curfew, from what I was told by Johnny

Why not ABOY/Vertigo/Boy-song then? I'd actually like to see how effective ABOY would be as a concert opener. That piercing note has a lot going for it and the song plain rocks.

Now, GOODBYE!!

I think it rocks as an opener...I just wish he'd get that bridge nailed....he keeps backing off it...all the more reason to do it early in the show as opposed to at the end when he's maybe out of steam..

EDIT: FINE! NOW Im going! God its 2 am!!

Well well well... just read all 3 threads after returning from my concert. Very interesting indeed. You got my daughter reading profanity, checking out mullets from the past, guitars, pleban porn, making faux setlists. Wow. what am I to do with you people :tsk: :tsk: :tsk: :giggle:

I'm sure she's seen profanity on these parties before. But yeah, I'm waiting to find out just what you're going to do to me. She said she was reporting me to you!

And I'm proud to see her setlisting at such a young age!

For Axver:

I have Peter Gabriel CDs as well as the first couple of Crowded House & some Split Enz, but Maddy hasn't shown much interest. Not that we play them much. Too much other stuff in regular rotation at the moment (for hubby: always Elvis Costello, + lately White Stripes & Oasis {since the show}). For me it's mainly U2 and Oasis. Funny how Maddy must have been playing CDs tonite and hearing some new songs (or learning song titles of previous heard ones).

I won't hurt you Axver. Not this time, especially since ruffian was here and you know she loves her profanity & foreign languages :giggle:

And I don't think I could setlist  Oh dear, what have I done :tsk:

See, we may be profane and have unnatural attractions to guitars and setlists, but we'll definitely broaden your daughter's musical horizons!

what have I done! I've created a monster, LOL.

<off to bed. Very tired after my show + reading thru 2+ threads! Aaahhhhh

Next thing you know, Maddy'll be telling you about how Heartland --> Bass Trap --> A Sort Of Homecoming is an amazing transition and that U2 really should cover Straitjacket Fits' She Speeds or some other song by an obscure Kiwi band.

Tada, and we have the setlist posted by U2.com. Of course they couldn't get it right. Let the discussion begin, were they going to play Crumbs and dropped it, or was it not on the setlist but it is impossible for U2.com to get a simple thing as the setlist right. Can't wait for the article, it will probably revolve around Crumbs. Also, I wonder if they did do the The Cry with Electric Co. or is this just another error.

Why can they spell out every word for Streets or Sometimes but then call another song Still Haven't Found & Wild Horses? :banghead:

From U2.com:

It's Sunday, Must Be Milwaukee .

Here's what they played tonight. Report on the way.

City of Blinding Lights
Vertigo
Elevation
Cry / Electric Co.
The Ocean
Still Haven’t Found
Beautiful Day
Miracle Drug
Sometimes You Can’t Make it on Your Own
Love and Peace or Else
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Bullet The Blue Sky
Miss Sarajevo
Pride in the Name of Love
Where the Streets Have No Name
One

First Time
Wild Horses
With or Without You

All Because of You
Crumbs From Your Table
Yahweh
40

That is officially the most horribly presented setlist I have ever seen.

I heard the Editor-in-Chief of U2.com is pissed now. This morning he was seen screaming at his writers regarding the incorrect inclusion of Crumbs from your Table in last night's setlist......

I don't know if this has been said yet but u2.com is posting Crumbs as being played in Milwaukee

No Crumbs last night and the standard setlist but I was there and I was blown away by several songs. SBS and Streets were AMAZING! So it might not be the songs everyone wants to hear but when you're there you don't care what they play. At least I don't. I went to Friday's show as well and there were songs that just blew me away. No show for me will ever compare to Croke #2. That was by far the best U2 I've ever been to. But I don't expect anything from a U2 show other than to hear 20+ great songs. And I did two times this weekend. Complain all you want about the songs that were not played but I had two amazing nights this weekend. I'm also super tired from a 5 hour drive home today so I'm probably not making much sense.
