Ha, ha, no haven't even visited the U.S!!

my class read a book about Danish culture and I told them I was going to bring them Danish candy as a special treat.

"Yay! Candy for everyone!!!" they chanted....

So i brought them some of your "special" licorice.

mwahahah. we had to pass around the trash can afterwards.

You crazy Danes :tsk:

Diane, it's *salted*. And I don't mean lightly salted. In candy stores in Italy there are signs that say, "Danish Candy, For Adults"

So of course I looked, thinking it was cut into pornographic shapes... :shifty:

Noooooooo! Just salty as hell. Tastes like licorice seaweed :yuck:

You're not meant to understand it.

It's mockery of bad typing and teenyboppers and so forth.

I figured as much.
I just don't see why that's needed though.
Unless it's one of those setlist customs

I don't suppose what you're talking about is anything like salmiakki? My Finnish friend describes it as being like "salty licorice" and gave me some to try. I am currently the only non-Scandinavian person she knows who actually liked it. I went back for more.

Axver, you're what, 17 and you read Kierkegarrd. No one ever thought you were a typical boy

I just saw the "Hi Bob" picture on the first page of this thread...is Bono loved or what????
He's so, sooooo easy to love. :bono:

And that marshmellow thingy...I've seen candy that looks like that, but I just can't remember where...?

Bono and Flødeboller in the same discussion...I can't take it. Really.

Loved the Hi Bob...so sweet. We were commenting how exceptional it is that a bunch of Italians got that organized

Lila, thank god. we've got to counterbalance the Danes somehow.

Yes, we also has salmiakki, but we call it salmiak in danish!

Bono should start learning how to count in danish soon, only 10 days to Copenhagen...

 I'm eighteen, actually. And I always wondered why no-one ever wanted to talk about the topics I wanted to talk about at school ...

(I'm the kind of person who'll discuss Kierkegaard in one breath, recite Pi to 350 decimal places in the next, and then tell you what U2 played 20 years ago today before praising the New Zealand rugby team. And yet I'm still not the weirdest one of my friends!)

LOL I know that!! We have it here too, they're called marshmellow cakes :)

noooooo not the same by a long shot! these are VERY special.

if Bono counts to (how do you say that 14? 1, 2, 3, 14?) in Danish I'll freak. Do those numbers sound anything like the Spanish ones? Did he say Uno, Due, Tre, Quattordice in Italy? Doesn't fit, really.

Très cool, Axver. You're really only 18? Wow I thought you were older, no kidding.

Hi all

Guess the Finn Brothers won't do that to me tonight.

Getting all excited now, with my playlist of random Enz MP3s, Together Alone, and Everyone Is Here.
