i'm set around 9700

i don't have a hardware mpeg-2 encoder so the quality isn't as great at 4000, plus i'm recording off regular cable (didn't get a chance to hook it up to the digital cable) and theres a bit of noise so it helps to record it in high quality for me, and then compress it later on

Buh!, My computer handles 9700 just as well....and the quality is much much better
oh well.
