I have a feeling there's been a thread about this before but I can't find it - also I'm stuck at work with nothing to do, and I've been wondering about this. So, sorry if this has been covered -
On this version of Crumbs, during the middle eight, when Bono sings "dignity passes by," the long "by" note is interrupted by another voice - sounds like Bono - singing "you speak." Bono then holds the "by" note even longer as though trying to cover it. At the end of the song he apologies "for some interference in the middle of that" and says "we think it was the saint."
What's the consenus? What happened?
