CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
This is the most ridiculous, tired discussion.

VH1 and MTV both sponsored Popmart AND Elevation. These are corporations!

Why does this make U2 a sellout? Do the songs or setlists or experience change because a corporation helped fund the shows?

I dare say the same folks who call this "selling out" would piss and moan if U2 had NOT been sponsored, because U2 wouldn't have been able to tour as many shows, as many cities, as many countries.

Get a grip people, MUSIC IS A BUSINESS, IT IS HOW U2 EARN THEIR LIVING.
