OK, just got my NYC tickets in the mail from Ticketmaster.... and they are completely black!! I called TM customer "service" and they told me the only way that I can get new tickets is to go to will call the day of the event. I might be able to go, but I was going to try and trade these tickets for another show...

Has this happened to anyone else?

I don't know how this could have happened inside the envelope. It must have been a problem with their printer.

how far off is the show?

call ticketmaster and tell them you never got the tickets (i've had tickets replaced under those circumstances)

I would keep after TM, they owe you proper tickets. I kept after them when I didn't get some in the mail, and they kept telling me to go to Will Call the day of the show, but I said I deserve to have tickets just like everybody else and not have to worry about going to Will Call, so eventually they mailed them again. Keep emailing and calling, you deserve what you paid for, a proper set of tickets.

At least the tickets are for a show in October, so I have plenty of time to bitch. The service rep told me they don't reprint tickets in any circumstances, and I didn't elevate it past that. For those that got replacement tickets, how did you eventually get them to send you replacements? Just hassling them?

LMFAO!!!!!

This happened to me once when I accidently left my tickets on top of my toaster oven. They just scanned them and let me in, no big deal.

Is there anything legible on them at all (or are they completely black)? I bought tix off of ebay for one of the Elevation shows and when I got them, half of the tickets were black (although the important info was still visible). I freaked out and took them to a ticketmaster outlet where they verified that they were real and told me what someone else here mentioned (that they had been either exposed to heat or sunlight) but that they should be fine. I was sweating until showtime but had no problems getting in. If you're really worried, go to a local outlet and get their opinion.

Good Luck!

They are black as night... you can strain your eyes and kind of read them but the scanner will definitely not pick up a bar code. I guess I will try the supervisor route tommorow. I suppose I can keep calling every day from now to October 7th. Oh, and they already invalidated the tickets I have now so I couldn't even use these if I wanted to. This wasn't exactly made clear to me at the time.

email them repeatedly too. I never did call anyone, I just kept emailing pleading my case with a lot of reasons why they should send me new tickets. I've done that also when I've accidentally ordered two sets of tickets (done that more than once), and also when better seats came up later I pleaded my case why they should take the earlier crappier ones back.

and they have always told me that you can go to the box office at the arena and they will always give you new tickets and let you in. Since I never tried that, is that correct? They said they have a record of all of our tickets, they see our I.D., and they let us in with new tickets.

Did you use a black American Express card to pay for em? Hope you get new ones!

I talked to the supervisor and they repeatedly told me that they can't print tickets under any circumstances. Of course he had me on hold for 5 minutes when he went to check this. If that was the policy why did he have to check? I guess you can just screw over your customers when you are a monopoly.

Just wait a few weeks, call them and tell them you never got 'em, and they'll send you a new pair - like somebody said on here. It works - I've done it too.

Also, if you're ever buying tickets in a parking lot, and suspect that they're frauds - grab a lighter and hold the flame about an inch below the ticket on the meaningless little part. It'll turn black instantly and you'll know you're good.

From the way the supervisor described it they NEVER reprint tickets so he or people on here are lying. I'm leaning towards him. He claims all tickets are checked before they are sent out, but I find it hard to believe that my mail was subjected to enough heat to completely fry my tickets.

Someday we'll live in a society where tickets won't be judged by their color. Black tickets will be treated equally with white tickets.
I have a dream.

Seriously... don't take this nonsense from TM. If people are right in what they say here, you should be fine regardless - but, if I were you, I would make damn sure of it.

Ticketbastard suck shit from a dead cow's backside, AND blow, simultaneously. They sent me an email the other day saying that my tickets had been cancelled. I was... let's just say annoyed. After giving myself half an hour to calm down, I phoned them. They say my tix haven't been cancelled at all and that someone just made an admin cock-up. It took a while but I got it sorted after a few hours arguing.

Good luck - keep us posted.

it's semantics ok .. they never "reprint" tickets for customers ... but if a customer "never got" the tickets they'll "re-issue"

you just have to know how to play the game ... tell them you "never got your tickets" (dont say anything about them being black or blue or whatever) they'll tell you to give it a week or so (get the name of the person you talk to) ... then call back and say the tickets still arent here and they'll "re-issue" the tickets

Sweet!! TM has agreed to replace my tickets, provided that I send them into the service center (which, coinicidentally, I had already done!).
