I'm planning on traveling at least one out-of-town show during the fall leg, and right now the plan is Vegas (night 2).

After having attended several shows during the first leg, I was reminded once again of what a difference the crowd can make, and am wondering what Vegas will be like.

So, my question is: what do people expect of the Vegas shows? On the one hand, I am concerned that there will be a lot of people there who have received free tix from the casinos/ hotels, and think to themselves "U2? I've heard of them. We have nothing better to do - why not sit through at least part of their show?" (I've been to a couple of shows in Vegas where that was the case, and being surrounded by people who really didn't give a crap about what they were seeing definitely put a damper on things).

On the other hand, there seem to be a lot of interferencers who are planning on making it to Vegas, so perhaps there will be many die-hards who plan to make Vegas their out-of-town show (or one of them), in which case it could be (at least partially) a great crowd. Does this in fact seem to be the case?

I saw the opening for Popmart in Vegas, and everyone I met were from out of the area who travelled just to see U2. So I'd say it was a good crowd!

I am definitely traveling from San Diego to both shows (although I don't have tickets, yet, a minor detail ) I am thinking it will be a mix of half die hards, half casino tickets.

I'll be there both nights, am a diehard and built my "Vegas Experience" around the U2 concerts. I don't think everybody will be die hard, but as long as me, my wife and U2 are in the same room, I don't care.

Hey Chizip, meet you and Bill in the 11/4 fan line and after the show, drinks are on me (for awhile).

I would think the free tix would be seats, so if you're concerned about it, just go GA. I saw Elevation in GA there and it was an amazing show - better than GA at Seattle Elevation.

I'll be there again for Vertigo, at least for 11/5, and maybe 11/4 if I get lucky.

I would think it would be just the opposite, as very very few GA's ever were available for the general onsale. In the past, the ellipse has been CHOCK full of VIP's/guests/and comp tickets...
