At what point does scalping become justified?

I can't figure out why so many people have tickets for shows they don't want to attend or can't attend!

Did everyone just buy tickets just because they could?

In some cases, yes. I bought 2 PHX1 GA's because they were available, and I wanted to go. Yet I can now only use 1 since my wife doesn't want to go. I want to see both PHX shows if I'm gonna drive out there alone. Hence the need to trade/exchange/sell-buy for other tickets.

Scalping is justified if you break out even paying for your ticket(s) to the show and travel expenses.

It's when you scalp another band in order to buy tickets for another band or buy the best available tickets at the time to see your favorite band.
