A member of my family swears blind that before the Arsenal v Ajax friendly at the Emirates Stadium last week, the commentator said that the new stadium had been booked by U2 for two dates in 2007.

I didn't hear it, so I can't confirm, but did anyone else?

Highly unlikely to be true as I doubt U2 will hit Europe again before 2009. They will probably play Wembley Stadium then, assuming it has finally finished being built of course....

i heard them say "maybe U2 will even come here" or something along those lines, and it was the guy who presented the coverage rather than the actual match commentators
