.....along with your post nr. 10,000?

Don't joke about though - with all the stuff being sold on Ebay these days, we'll never know if some jerk will try to put a person like Ali on sale one day - and an even bigger jerk will make a bid

PLEASE STANDBY FOR TRANSMISSION:ATTENTION ALL U2/MUSIC FAN'S,PLEASE READ ARTICLE FROM 7-23-05 BY WRITER MARK BROWN AT www.rockymountainnews.com TITLED "SCAM ARTIST'S CREATE NEW WAY'S TO PREY ON FAN'S".IT COVER'S THE FOLLOWING TOPIC'S 1)PHONY TICKET'S 2)PHONY BACKSTAGE PASSE'S 3)PHONY AUTOGRAPHED MEMORABILLIA (ESPECIALLY THING'S LIKE "FULL BAND AUTOGRAPH'S ON CURRENT CD'S EVEN THOUGH SOME BAND MEMBER'S ARE DEAD!!!!".PEACE,THE ROCKMEISTER

The pass itself is not fake. The picture of Ali may be a fake but the actual pass itself is legit.

However, as previously mentioned by another poster, the passes will change for the fall leg

the funny thing is, even if its real what are going to do? go backstage were people will just look at you thinking "hmm never seen him before", and if the band are even there they will just look thinking i dont know who this guy is, get him out and call the police for fraud

If someone's got 500 quid to spend on buying a dodgy looking pass from ebay,

then they must have enough money to spend on plastic surgery making them look like ali..

just got to practice the irish accent now.

You all think it's fake? I was the winning bidder.

Just Joking

How can anyone fall for this crap?

U2 has dozens of crew members and dozens of various guests at every show. Secondly, the only people you need to get by to get to the ellipse are local crew/security. They have no idea who is really U2's crew....hence that is why they have passes.

I wouldnt try going to the band's dressing room but getting in the venue would be easy. I work in the music industry and have passes at almost every show I attend. I usually just have the satin VIP passes which only allow limited backstage access if any. It amazes how little people scrutinize passes.

Sometimes I dont even put them on. I just throw them in my pocket to see how far I can get before someone asks.

One time I got all the way into 50 cent's (hey-I was working!) dressing room and nobody asked to see a pass.

Sorry but there is someone on this board that works at Fleet Center. She was not allowed in the Ellipse, but only during the opening act set change, because she was working. Security can only get into the ellipse only if escorted by their boss, or an assistant promoter rep. or promoter can just easily walk into the ellipse.

hi super_fan,

this was also the policy at some shows on elevation. they were especially strict at the 3 msg shows in 10/01. there is a way around it, but i shouldn't post it. it's pretty easy to figure out though, and it has worked everytime i did it. i checked at vertigo shows, and it will still work. you just need the pass and an understanding of u2's security.

Between buying other people's passes, figuring out work-arounds, and learning U2's security procedures, I think I'd rather just wait in line.

MSG tried to be strict, (especially when the Drop Line security guard allowed this one scalper to go back in line about 5 or 6 times but cutting it ) but they were not strict or smart enough to see what else was going on before the show inside the ellipse.:|
