No, the HRC had a conflict because of the live band kareoke and they couldn't have Vertigo play as well. Sorry.

Like J said, HRC had the conflict, Vertigo USA were actually going to do the show for free, but HRC couldn't get out of a contract or something with the live band karaoke.

U2Midwest Presents "Verti-Chica-Go 2005"

We had so much fun the last time we did this, we figured we'd do it again.

U2 Midwest (www.u2midwest.com), the online home of U2 fans across the
Midwestern United States, is throwing a party in honor of U2's four
night stand in Chicago on their 2005 Vertigo Tour.

When?
The party is scheduled for 8pm on Sunday, May 8th 2005.

Where?
The site will once again be Chicago's beautiful Hard Rock Cafe,
located at 63W Ontario (Clark and Ontario) right in the heart of
Chicago. It is convientely located near downtown hotels and is within
walking distance from some of the great sites and shopping that makes
Chicago world famous. For information on things to do in Chicago, we
suggest you check out www.metromix.com or pop into U2midwest.com and
ask one of the locals.

Cover?
We have worked hard to make sure that we do not have to charge a cover
at the door so no need to worry about that. So how are we able to
afford this? We're hoping that you help us out by purchasing some
raffle tickets, see below for more info.

Age requirement?
This is an all ages event, bring the whole family if you like.

RSVP?
The space is limited to 150 people so we are taking advance RSVP's for
people who are positive they will be in attendance. To RSVP, please
see our evite at http://www.evite.com/TJCunningham@gmail.com/U2Midwest
Each person who registers will recieve a goody bag.

What to expect?
Aside from a good time, we have some other cool things in store for you all.

A raffle will be held offering numerous U2 themed prizes, grand prize
will be a brand new U2 iPod!!! Tickets are $1 a piece and will be sold
in the GA line of the first Chicago show as well as the party itself.
Tickets can be purchased online thru paypal or money order, please
note, due to fees assessed by Paypal.com, online purchases are
required to purchase a minimum of 10 tickets at $10. Winner need not
be present to win. Email u2midwestraffle@gmail.com for more info.

Entertainment is going to be provided by you, in way of live band
karoake, after all, who is better suited to sing U2 songs at a U2
party then you? Karaoke starts at 9pm.

Hope to see a lot of you there!

Though the Hard Rock won't let Vertigo play you'll hopefully still get to see Mark, the Bono for Vertigo perform. He's quite the karaoke fanatic, I've seen him action.
So hopefully that band knows some U2 tunes cause he'll put them to the test.

Just karaoke is when its just you on the stage singing to a cd. Live band karaoke is where they have an actual band back you up. Its a lot of fun.

this sounds fun... not sure if i can make it, b/c my plane gets into chicago that night... but i want to come! :)

Less than 100 spots left with 2 weeks to go. If you're interested in going, please RSVP as soon as possible. We have plans for everyone that RSVP's.

Also, please remember about the raffle. We'll have great U2 themed prizes with the grand prize being a brand new U2 iPod! :hyper: Raffle tickets are being sold online, e-mail u2midwestraffle@gmail.com for more info.

:bump:

There's 68 spots left for the party! There's been an unbelievable response so far. Especially after u2log and @u2 announced the party.

Please RSVP as soon as you can to insure your spot!

We're looking forward to meeting all of you!

Wow...only 64 spots left. I never thought it'd go below 100. This IS shaping up to be better than Elevation Celebration! :dancing:

I certainly wasn't expecting this type of response, but I'm glad we're getting it.

The party's shaping up to be a memorable one. The location's great, we have some great stuff planned for all of you, and it'll be with the best people...U2 fans!!!

I can't wait to meet you all! If you're going to be in town on the 8th, be sure to RSVP!

ok, how late do people think this event is gonna go? my flight gets in at 9pm- i tried to change it to earlier, but couldn't do it.

i'm not checking any bags, and will come straight from the airport, so i figure i'll get there about 9:30... will it still be going on then?
