Everyone,

Hello! Hello! After a dizzying week following the Vertigo tour in Chicago, The ONE Campaign in Texas will be participating in the 22nd annual Candlelight Memorial Service (http://www.candlelightmemorial.org) which will take place 15 May 2005 from 8pm-9pm at Republic Square Park, downtown Austin TX, at 4th and Guadalupe Streets.

I will be speaking on The ONE Campaign and on what we can do to Make Poverty History in our lifetimes. Please come and join us. (remember to bring a friend and a candle) Also stop by before the program and pick up some of the new material regarding The ONE Campaign from the Vertigo tour. Our booth will be set up by 7pm.

As always, we encourage you to JOIN US and add your voice for a better future for Africa and the world's poorest people with nearly 500,000 other people who have already signed The ONE Campaign's petition.

Bono personally thanked me for what The ONE Campaign in Texas is doing down here as volunteers for The ONE Campaign. Let's continue to make him proud of us! Join us Sunday night for an evening of turning our "remembrance into action" for all those around the world who have lost their lives to AIDS and for all those left orphaned by the AIDS pandemic.

United as ONE, we can change the world. We get to carry each other.

ONE,
debbie

Debbie - thanks for the update on ONE campaign news in Austin and about Candlelight Memorial Service. Good luck with the booth and your speech.

United as ONE,

Lori

hotpepper, you're always so sweet and supportive.

Just as U2 would want us to be with each other.

The event tonight was small due to impending rain in our area, but I got some more signatures for The ONE Campaign and raised people's consciousness about Africa, so it was still a good night.

ONE Campaign Meeting in Texas - Please Come!

Everyone,

The ONE Campaign of Texas will be holding a general information meeting on Saturday, 21 May 2005, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Mitchie's Fine Art Gallery, Austin's premier African-American arts and cultural center, located in the Lincoln Village shopping center (6406 N IH 35 Austin TX).

We will be sharing updated information regarding The ONE Campaign plus our volunteer outreach opportunities for June (in case you would like to help). We would love for you to stop by and share your ideas with us. As volunteers, we are always looking for new ways to reach our community regarding AIDS and extreme poverty in Africa.

We will show a short film entitled "Epidemic Africa", narrated by Rev. Desmond Tutu from South Africa, which focuses on the devastating effects that the AIDS pandemic is having on African communities throughout the continent.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday. Your time and effort combined with ours can TRULY MAKE A DIFFERENCE for Africa's Future. Thank you for your continuing commitment to "make poverty history" in our lifetimes. We get to carry each other.

ONE,

Debbie
